My Imperfect Life: who we are

Between figuring out their career and relationships, while looking after themselves and still finding time to have fun, young women all over the world face a gazillion challenges every day. This is why My Imperfect Life launched in September 2020—we're here to make the journey a little less stressful, and definitely more enjoyable. We've got the lowdown on everything you need, to handle whatever life throws at you.

From the best beauty buys recommended by our insiders—who'll tell you exactly what's worth investing your precious money in, to expert advice on how to look after your body and mind, we bring you the latest so you can live life on your terms. We want to empower young women to make the most out of life, providing trusted, informed advice and debate—without judgement.

We cover entertainment, fashion, beauty, travel and wellbeing, with a mix of the news you need to know about, inspiring features, interesting interviews, as well as reviews and edits of products you might like.

Our team

Mariana Cerqueira
Mariana Cerqueira

Mariana is the Editor of My Imperfect Life. She has previously worked for titles including woman&home and Goodto, covering all aspects of women’s lifestyle — from beauty and fashion to wellness and travel. She was nominated for AOP Digital Journalist of the Year in 2020, and for New Digital Talent of the Year at the 2016 PPA Digital Awards. She’s mildly obsessed with reality TV (Love Island memes included) and spends far too much time checking her horoscope and figuring out the perfect curly hair routine.

Christina Izzo
Christina Izzo

Christina is the Deputy Editor of My Imperfect Life. She is a writer-editor covering food and drink, travel, lifestyle and culture in New York City. She was previously the Features Editor at Rachael Ray In Season and Reveal, as well as the Food & Drink Editor and chief restaurant critic at Time Out New York. When she’s not doing all that, she can probably be found eating cheese somewhere.

Aleesha Badkar
Aleesha Badkar

Aleesha is acting deputy editor for My Imperfect Life, where she looks after the beauty, fashion and shopping content. Previously she was shopping writer for woman&home and gained an AOP awards nomination after working on their news team. She earned an MA in Magazine Journalism from City, University of London in 2017 and has since worked with a number of brands including Women's Health, Stylist and Goodto. When she’s not testing new products, Aleesha spends her time soaking up the newest bestsellers and Netflix releases, exploring different wines, attempting new languages and (in non-COVID times) has been known to be a bit of a jet setter after spending a year living in Madrid.

Sagal Mohammed
Sagal Mohammed

Sagal is a journalist, specializing in lifestyle, pop culture, fashion and beauty. She has written for a number of lifestyle, fashion and culture publications including Vogue, Glamour, Stylist, Evening Standard, Bustle, You Magazine, Dazed and Wonderland to name a few.

danielle valente
Danielle Valente

Danielle is a writer for My Imperfect Life, where she particularly enjoys covering lifestyle and entertainment news. She was previously the editor of Time Out New York Kids and a news editor at Elite Daily. When she's not working, you can find her reading a good book and enjoying a cup of coffee. Naomi Jamieson

Naomi is a News Writer on My Imperfect Life. She has a background in design, having studied Illustration at Plymouth University but has taken a leap into the world of journalism after always having a passion for writing. She currently writes pieces on fashion, wellbeing, and entertainment for My Imperfect Life and is training for an NCTJ Qualification. When she isn’t writing articles on celebs, fashion trends, or the newest shows on Netflix, you can find her drinking copious cups of coffee, drawing and probably online shopping.

My Imperfect Life: buying guides & reviews policy

Our buying guides and reviews are tried and tested by people who are experts in their field and curated by our editorial team, based on what we think you want to know, to help you make an informed choice.

We include shopping links in our articles and, as a company (Future Plc), we may receive a small commission from retailers when you buy products from them via these links. We always aim to offer a range of retailers and products and our selections are always driven by editorial—our buying guides and reviews are completely independent of commercial involvement.

Affiliate & Advertising disclosure

We always aim to provide unbiased editorial created by our journalists and writers. We also need to pay our teams and website costs so we make money in a number of ways. We sometimes use affiliate links to products and services on retailer sites for which we can receive compensation if you click on those links or make purchases through them. From time to time we also publish advertorials (paid-for editorial content) and sponsored content on the site. When this is the case the content is clearly marked as sponsored or promoted, so you’ll always know which content is editorial and which is not. Future PLC is our parent company and has an in-depth terms and conditions page with a lot more information that you can read right here
