If you've been waiting for some sign from the universe to purchase the ILIA Multi-Stick, well this is it—I'm your sign.

I have been using this lip and cheek tint for the best part of a year and to put it simply, I'm in love. This stick delivers the most natural and 'lit-from-within' blush I have ever encountered—and I've been around the block with the likes of Glossier's Cloud Paint, Rare Beauty's Melting Blushes and Charlotte Tilbury's wand and powder blushes.

Though granted it is definitely on the pricier side—totaling $36—I'm about to run through why, if you're a glowy makeup lover, I think it's worth the spend, as someone who has just re-ordered it...

So, why is this stick my ride-or-die, well for starters, it's a multipurpose makeup product. You can apply it to both your cheeks and your lips and oof, that color payoff. I use shade "At Last" which is the perfect mauve rose shade that just compliments my skin tone so well and makes me look instantly fresh. I wear it every day without fail, in fact since buying it I've never deviated back to my OG's, meaning there is something of a blush graveyard in my makeup bag...

It's also soo easy to apply, as you can just swipe it over the apples of your cheek, or cheekbones—depending on your preferred placement—and blend it in with your fingertips. Personally, I apply it quite high on my cheeks and on my nose bridge and tap it in using my ring finger.

And don't be fooled by it's size, this stick lasts! I've had mine for over nine months now and I'm still using it—though I am past the rim now, which makes it a bit annoying to get what's left of the product out, which is the one gripe I'd like to make on the packaging itself.

Formula-wise, it features shea and avocado oil, which really lend themselves to the dewy glow this stick delivers to the cheeks and is available in 12 dreamy shades—all of which are perfect for recreating that 'Strawberry Girl' makeup vibe. Even My Imperfect Life's Editor, Mariana Cerqueira is a fan and uses shade "Whisper", in case you were wondering!

The only drawback for me is yes, the price but it is one I'm willing to pay considering what a staple this blush has become in my makeup arsenal. But, if you are looking for a cheaper alternative, this e.l.f blush stick (at ULTA) looks very similar!

As if Emma's style influence wasn't already all over our capsule wardrobes, the social media star and coffee connoisseur has just offered up some major fall-time hair inspo—enter, Emma Chamberlain's updo...

Sporting a long cut-out red dress (which colorwise, is also a huge fall trend), Emma stepped out for Lancôme's Paris Fashion Week event on Wednesday, September 27, with her espresso-brunette hair pulled back into a soft, touseled bun, complete with face-framing curtain bangs. The look was perfectly undone and exactly what we're looking for in a fall hair look.

Now, we're not going to sit here and say that Emma in any way invented or coined this wispy bun look but what we are going to do is talk about how darn good looks on her and how we—and you—can go about recreating it this season.

As mentioned, Emma debuted the hairstyle at Paris Fashion Week and it's already one of our favorite Emma Chamberlain hair looks of all time. 

The updo itself is such a classic choice, with the majority of her hair brushed back into a spikey bun and her bangs—plus a few longer side pieces—having been softly quaffed around her face. It's simple and elegant and the perfect versatile look to pair with your wardrobe, from a casual work look to a fall-ready leather jacket and knit jumper outfit or of course, a more formal ensemble, like Emma's.

It's also surprisingly low-maintenance, much like the viral slicked-back bun, once you've nailed the method.

As for recreating this bun, you'll first want to brush your hair through—we'd recommend a bristly paddle brush like this one from Denman—then section out your fringe and a few shortish side pieces, before tying the rest of your hair back into a mid-rise ponytail.

If you want really voluminous bangs for this look, you can also use a hair roller or curler like these Dyson Airwrap dupes.

Then simply twirl your hair around the base of your ponytail and secure it before gently curling or blowing out (with the aforementioned tools) your bangs. You can then follow up with a few spritzes of hair spray, to lock in your style.

Chanel's Chance Eau Tendre is counted among the best perfumes thanks to its fresh and fruity anatomy—but as to be expected from the iconic name, a bottle does not come cheap.

The scent itself features a soft blend of jasmine, rose and teakwood, with sparkling hints of citron that once spritzed, create a violet-like aroma on the skin. Now that's all well and good but a bottle of the floral perfume will set you back $90 for 1.2 fluid ounces. 

Thankfully though, fragrance enthusiasts over on TikTok come through with three perfectly fresh alternatives from ZARA, Target and Dossier all for under $30...

3 Chance Eau Tendre swaps that TikTok loves

As a former wearer of Chance Eau Tendre myself (Le Labo Santal 33 is my new go-to, in case you were interested), I can attest to the hype of this scent. It's sweet and warm but still fresh and really reminds me of Parma Violets...but fancy. It's the perfect everyday fragrance and will no doubt earn you a multitude of compliments when worn as a date night scent. 

That being said, it is on the pricier side but like with these YSL Black Opium replicas, there are a few almost identical alternatives out there, just waiting to be spritzed...

One such fragrance is ZARA's Applejuice, which—like most of ZARA's perfume range—has been dubbed by TikTokers as a close swap.

The perfume (which is priced at just $19.90) features a mix of apple, orange and pink grapefruit, with core notes of jasmine, rose and violet—which, in particular, Chance Eau Tendre smells like—followed by warm hints of cedar and sandalwood. 

All in all, it's very reminiscent of the OG but bear in mind that it's longevity isn't quite there, with many TikTok shoppers saying they have to reapply. Though for under $20, that's a price we're willing to pay!

Next up is Target's Magnolia Violet which is again, said to be very similar to Eau Tendre, in fact, one shopper actually wrote in their review: "Similar fragrance notes to Chance by Chanel (my all-time fave), for a fraction of the price. Super cute packaging, fragranced with essential oils instead of perfume allergens. Excellent find!"

Others also compared it to Marc Jacob's Daisy, so if that's your signature, this could be a good option for every day!

The reviews prove that it definitely stands up to its designer counterpart, with one shopper saying: "Smells almost identical to YSL Black Opium at a fraction of the cost," though the general consensus is that it doesn't last as long—but many do state their happy to reapply when the perfume costs $30.

To me, the COS quilted bag is the epitome of a 'Quiet Luxury' accessory. It looks expensive, it feels expensive and considering all the former point, it's actually pretty reasonably priced.

Since adding it to my cart, it has become an integral part of my capsule wardrobe for the effortless way it elevates my outfits. And while I can't sing its praises loud enough, I am (as a beauty and fashion writer) always on the lookout for a cheaper alternative.

Of course, a scarlet/cherry red just had to come first in our lineup as it's a true classic. Either opt for a mid-length oval nail length or more of a shorter squared look. 

This color instantly makes you look and feel put together because it's just so darn sophisticated and while it's definitely bold, it will add the perfect pop of color to your fall capsule wardrobe.

2. Burgundy red nails

You can never go wrong with a burgundy shade, especially on almond or short-rounded nails.

The famous hue has, of course, been named as a must-have 'Quiet Luxury' nail color for fall 2023, but alas being that it's Chanel (and not to mention its illustrious reputation), this afore-named nail polish does come with a pretty steep price tag—$32 to be exact. 

And because of that, I'm not about to gatekeep this Chanel Rouge Noir dupe because it's just too darn good and most importantly, affordable!

MIL's fave Chanel Rouge Noir nail polish dupe

While green nails and barely-there nails have been getting a lot of love lately, fall is ushering in an era of classic red hues, with Chanel's shade range leading the way.

Rouge Noir as the name would suggest, coats your nails in a deep, merlot-like maroon color that just looks soo sultry and expensive-looking. There's a reason why it's one of Chanel's signature and perhaps most famous shades—well a ton of reasons actually, one being that it never goes out of style and that it never fails to invoke autumnal vibes.

Annoyingly though, it's $32 for just 0.4 oz which is a hefty price to pay for a nail varnish. This is why, our beauty writer, Naomi Jamieson (aka moi!) has instead turned to Essie's nail lacquer in shade "Bordeaux," which for just $10 offers a very similar wine-red hue. Here's the proof...

For a close Rouge Noir payoff, the sweet spot is three coats of Bordeaux—this will give you that red, almost deep brown look. Alternately, two shades will give you more of a dark crimson look, which is also very in right now. 

The shades are not completely identical, but for a $20 price, any minor difference in Essie's hue can be easily overlooked!

We'd also suggest opting for a short, squared nail look for this shade and applying a layer of nail strengthener (like this one from OPI at Amazon) before your dark red coats, to ensure your nails stay healthy.

Despite supplying us with a ton of swaps for the best perfumes, it's Sol De Janeiro's turn for the dupe treatment, as TikTok claims these budget lotions are Brazilian Bum Bum cream dupes.

The cult favorite body cream has beauty lovers everywhere in a chokehold thanks to its sunny pistachio, salted caramel and vanilla scent—which literally smells like an eternal vacation—and its skin-loving ingredients. However, the lotion's $48 price point is rather less tempting. 

While you can of course settle for the mini size (which will cost you $22), there are actually a few other alternatives that are sooo much cheaper but equally as yummy...

The best Sol De Janeiro Brazilian Bum Bum dupes

As mentioned Sol De Janeiro itself, actually offers some budget alternatives for some of our fave 'Quiet Luxury' scents—like the Baccarat 540 dupe and the brand's latest spray After Hours spray, which is said to be a swap for Viktor&Rolf's Flowerbomb and also bares resemblance to YSL's Black Opium.

Their perfume mists are priced at $24, but their TikTok beloved cream is a tad pricier...

Another alternative is the Nutrius Brazilian Body Butter Cream, with its nourishing blend of coconut and acai oil. One shopper even went as far as to call it the 'best' body butter they've ever used, adding: "This butter melts right into your skin and does not leave greasy residue. Smells wonderful too!!!"

A second buyer also noted that it doesn't smell exactly like the Bum Bum cream, but is still a great dupe and "excellent value."

In case you missed it, Sofia took to TikTok on Saturday, September 2, 2023, to share her signature, sleek back bun or 'lazy girl' bun, to quote her.

In the video, she begins her routine with wet hair, before spritzing in some Unite tangling spray (available at Amazon) and brushing it through. She then brushes out a 'strong center part' using a styling comb and applies an oil and hair mask.

After the prep, she explained how she likes to divide out two front sections before tying back the remaining hair into a ponytail—having decided on where she wants her 'bun to live'. She ties it up tightly, before brushing and slicking back the two front sections and gathering them up with the ponytail to then twirl and wrap them around the base, to create that bun. She secures it and the voilà, that classic slicked bun look, complete with a perfectly defined parting. 

However, there's one step in this routine that has caused some controversy—she did it with wet hair.

In response to her video, one fan commented: "Every hair stylist cringing a the wet hair being tied up."

While another wrote: "Ok she looks STUNNING but is anybody else worried about how she does this with wet hair? I mean breakage is likely to happen." And a third asked, "Isn't it bad to do a tight updo while wet as well as twisting a bud?" 

Now, we did of course see her apply a ton of nourishing hair products—like hair masks and lotions—but even so, should you ever tie your hair up with it's wet or is it a one-way ticket to damaged hair?

So, should you tie your hair up wet? What the experts say...

Tyler Moore, expert stylist at Live True London says it's best to avoid tight updos when your hair is still wet, as it can be very damaging. Moore explains: "Your hair is more prone to breakage when it’s wet—it will stretch more easily causing more tension as well. We don’t recommend tying up your hair when it’s wet, although the use of products like masks may prevent some damage. 

"In general, it’s best to wait until your hair is dry before tying it up into a bun, especially tighter styles."

That being said, Moore also says that you can follow Sofia's routine, as long as you're using protective products—as Sofia does in her TikTok. Moore adds: "If you’re low on time to do your hair and find this tutorial works for you, then by all means go for it. Using products like oils, serums and masks to mitigate damage will help keep your hair healthy." If your hair is already in need of some TLC though, perhaps skip this routine until your hair is stronger.

"In general," notes Moore, "we’d recommend starting on dry hair and doing a similar technique but using an oil, serum or mask to create that slicked-back look without the hardness of gel. Describing the look as a "vibe sandwich", TikToker @arcticjackie has well and truly cracked the Pinterest aesthetic code, in just six steps.

In Jackie's video, which has now wracked up over one million views, she says to first: "Put on a button-up, tank top, or a graphic tee,"—it doesn't matter which just as long as you feel cute. Step two, sees you slip on a pair of bottoms that do not match the 'vibe of the top'—we repeat, do not match the vibe!

Here's where that 'sandwich' term comes into play, Jackie says: "Step three, put on a pair of shoes that match the vibe of the top. It's kind of like a vibe sandwich," before layering any part of your outfit, whether that's a shirt, scarf or jacket.

Then step five, sees you take a bag that matches any part of your ensemble so far (whether it's the bottoms, top, or shoes.), then step five..."accessorize to the moon."

Layer on all your fave rings and gold huggie earrings, plus a pair of your coolest sunglasses and voila, you're Pinterest-ready.
