Modibodi’s new recycled leggings are a win for the planet—and your period
Now Aunt Flow won't get in the way of your yoga flow
Periods are a pain—often literally—but they're so frequent that we never want them to get in the way of our daily routines or workout schedule. Thankfully, Modibodi is to the rescue.
The period-proof underwear brand has just launched a sustainable activewear innovation, the 7/8 Recycled Active Leggings, which promise both comfort and protection while you work out.
The soft, supportive workout tights can protect against a moderate to heavy period, holding two to three tampons' worth of flow, and the brand's built-in "Modifier Technology" lining keeps things graciously breathable and super absorbent. So, instead of worrying about leaks and sweat while you work out, you can just focus on the fitness gains in front of you!
Like most Modibodi products, the new 7/8 Recycled Active Leggings double down on eco-friendliness. For one, they're made from 78-percent recycled material salvaged from pre-consumer factory waste. And two, they will diminish or ideally eliminate the need for any disposable or single-use women's hygiene products, taking the place of tampons, maxi pads and panty liners.
And they have all of the features you love from your regular workout leggings, including a snug, comfortable high waist that won't roll when you're doing sit-ups or side bends, and handy pockets for stashing your phone while exercising.
The new Modibodi leggings are size-inclusive—they're currently available in sizes 8 (S) to 18 (2XL)—and, best of all, they're easy to clean and maintain. Simply rinse first, then machine wash on the gentle setting and hang to dry. (Fabric softeners and stain removers not needed!) How easy is that?
Modibodi CEO Kristy Chong used her own experience with bladder leakage as the inspiration for the brand ten years ago. Chong was training for a marathon and realized that all of the available solutions for leaks on the market were annoying to use, unappealing to look at, and damaging to the environment. Hence, Modibodi was born.
So if you're looking for a period-proof legging that is comfy enough for chilling on the couch but sturdy enough for sweating in the gym, Modibodi's new 7/8 Recycled Active Leggings might just be the thing your workout wardrobe needs!
