Will we get a 'Good Trouble' season 6? What we know so far about the Freeform show's future
The fifth season ended in May, but what about 'Good Trouble' season 6? Has the show been renewed or canceled?
We're already missing the Coterie crew—so will we get a Good Trouble season 6?
A spin-off of The Fosters, Good Trouble season 5 wrapped up on Freeform this past May and packed in plenty of drama in ten episodes. The first few eps alone had us questioning, "Does Evan die in Good Trouble?" and "Is Callie returning?" (Yes, season five saw the much-anticipated return of Maia Mitchell's character, who left the show in episode two of season 4 to begin a new life in D.C. working with the ACLU.)
But now that we're done with the show's fifth season, we can't help but wonder about its sixth. Will we have more adventures from Mariana (Cierra Ramirez) and her Coterie comrades? Here's what we know. (And if you need to catch up, here's where to watch Good Trouble no matter where you are in the world.)
'Good Trouble' season 6: what we know so far
As of press time, Freeform has not yet announced whether it is renewing the drama series for season 6, and there's been no news of a potential release date.
The previous season pick-up was announced in August 2022, just ahead of the Good Trouble season 4 finale in September. However, the season 5 finale came and went, and we're still waiting to hear renewal news. Stay tuned!
Is 'Good Trouble' canceled?
As of publication, Good Trouble has not been formally canceled by Freeform. However, given that the series has also not been officially renewed, cancellation could be sadly in the cards for the long-running show. We'll keep you posted as soon as we hear either way!
Who will be in the 'Good Trouble' season 6 cast?
There has been no confirmation yet on who will return should Good Trouble get picked up for a sixth season, but we'd put money on seeing these main cast members again:
- Cierra Ramirez as Mariana Adams Foster
- Zuri Adele as Malika Williams
- Sherry Cola as Alice Kwan
- Bryan Craig as Joaquin Peréz
- Emma Hunton as Davia Moss
- Tommy Martinez as Gael Martinez
- Josh Pence as Dennis Cooper
- Priscilla Quintana as Isabella Tavez
And though Mitchell did return to play Callie in the fifth season, the actress did so as a "guest star," not as a series regular, so we're not expecting to see her full-time next season, if we get one.
Another character we're not sure we'll be seeing again is Evan (T.J. Linnard), who tragically took a bullet while helping Mariana, Joaquin, and Jenna escape Silas' farm in the Good Trouble season 5 premiere. Though he was alive, he was in a coma for a while, with Mariana acting as his proxy, and when he woke up, he couldn't remember the past two years of his life due to the strokes he suffered.
Given how dire his medical situation has been this season, we'll have to see how things play out with the character if he'll be joining the rest of the cast in the next one.
Good Trouble season 5 is available to stream in full on Hulu.
