Stormzy's Met Gala look owned the red carpet last night as he made an unexpected appearance at the Met Gala 2022—much to the delight of fans (including us) who couldn't get enough of his immaculate styling.

It may have been his first time but the UK artist looked like a pro as he posed in an all-white Burberry three-piece wool suit with satin lapels and a matching white cape at the Metropolitan Museum of Art's Costume Institute in New York City.

The outfit, designed by Riccardo Tisci, was completed with a pair of  black patent leather shoes and all we can say is, *chef's kiss*

Stormzy's Met Gala debut

The annual fashion event marked the rapper's biggest red carpet moment to date and one of few public soiree's he has been spotted at in months. Back in 2020, Stormzy deleted his Instagram as well as his other social media accounts, living life more privately and focusing on the release of his upcoming third studio album, which is set to drop later this year—so fans were thrilled to see him out and about.

His Met look was put together by celebrity stylist Melissa Holdbrook-Akposoe, better known as Melissa's Wardrobe, and as Stormzy put it himself, it was quite the opposite of his day to day attire. Speaking to Vogue on the red carpet, the 28-year-old star said: "Usually I wear all black a lot of the time…so it’s nice to shine today."

"I am nervous, it’s crazy like, it’s a lot different but it’s amazing, I’m just going to embrace it," he added. ‘"It’s a lot different when you see them on the telly, so I’m just going to get some selfies, have a little drink and chill out and take it all in."

Bless him!

On thing's for sure, he certainly made it on the list of the most memorable Met Gala fashion moments this year, rather than the Met Gala memes, which never fail to entertain us through the big night and the days that follow.

We're hoping to see Big Mike back for round two next year! In the meantime, the countdown to his album is on.
