The wait is over. Euphoria is finally back with the first of a two-part special which drops in the US today. But how can you watch if you're in the UK or any other country?

Euphoria special: what can you expect?

Euphoria season two may be a long way off but the special Christmas episodes are here to keep us going and help bridge the gap between where we left off in season one and what to expect from the next season. Coming to HBO and Sky Atlantic, the eery teen drama starring Emmy-winner Zendaya in the lead role as Rue, has been all we've been talking about since it debuted in 2019.

Not only has it brought a whole host of new talent to the eyes of Hollywood - including Hunter Schafer who plays Jules, Rue's love interest, Alexa Demie, Barbie Ferreira and Sydney Sweeney to name a few - it has also inspired its very own beauty looks, with imitating the bright and bold make up seen on the show. But most of all, it's the complex storylines and portrayal of a Gen-Z adolescent experience that resonates with viewers. The show covers a number of dark themes including drug addiction, trauma, friendships, love and the pressures of growing up in a digital age.

The new episode picks up with Rue contemplating her life in a diner where she runs into Ali (Colman Domingo), someone she met at a Narcotics Anonymous meeting.

So, how exactly can you watch it?

How to watch the two-part Euphoria specials from anywhere in the world

The first episode of the Euphoria special is available on HBO Max for a US audience and will arrive on Sky Atlantic and Now TV for UK viewers on Monday 7 December. However, if you simply can't wait that long or you're currently based outside the US  unable to use your usual TV subscription, and you can’t go a minute longer without watching the highly anticipated come back, there's a great way to do so from wherever you are in the world. It's... a VPN.

A VPN  is a handy piece of software that allows you to browse anonymously, and to change your IP address so your mobile, computer, or laptop thinks it's in another location. Meaning, you can watch your favourite show, film or event - even if you’re away from home.

Our favourite VPN service is ExpressVPN - rated the best VPN in the world right now, by our colleagues at TechRadar.

How to get started

1. First off, you need to make sure you have a HBO subscription so you can log in once your VPN is set up.

2. Then, download ExpressVPN, using the easy-to-follow instructions (you can get 49% off, 3 months free and there's a 100% risk-free 30-day money-back guarantee).

3. Once you've installed your VPN, open the app and select your server location as anywhere in the United States.

4. With your ExpressVPN installed and your location set to the United States, head to HBO, log in and follow the instructions to stream Euphoria.
