Here's why Chrishell Stause and Jason Oppenheim decided to call it quits

'The amount of respect and love we have for each other will not change going forward'

After five months of dating, Selling Sunset's Chrishell Stause and Jason Oppenheim have decided to go their separate ways.

The friends-to-lovers relationship hooked fans of the Netflix series from the get-go, but ultimately, the duo decided it was best to keep their connection platonic. In a lengthy Instagram post on December 21, Stause gave her followers an update about her love life.

Chrishell Stause and Jason Oppenheim: what happened?

Embracing the tell-all lifestyle she's been leading, Stause detailed the one factor that drove her and the Oppenheim Group founder apart.

"Jason was and is my best friend, and other than our ideas for family not ultimately not being aligned, the amount of respect and love we have for each other will not change going forward," she wrote.

She continued, "I very much one day hope to have a family and decisions I make at this point are with that goal in mind."

Oppenheim echoed that sentiment with an Instagram post of his own, stating that he loves and respects Stause, but ultimately did not see eye-to-eye with her regarding family.

Coincidentally, Brett Oppenheim's girlfriend, Tina Louise, decided to part ways with the realtor at the same time Chrishell and Jason broke up. While attempting to answer questions about his Real Estate Agents Masterclass and Real Estate Investors Masterclass, Brett Oppenheim was asked if he was single.

"Okay, this question has absolutely nothing to do with real estate, but I will answer it. As of very recently, actually, yes."

Who knows how this will all play out on Selling Sunset season 5, but fans are crossing their fingers that they'll get a sneak peek into the cast's love lives.

For the time being, Selling Sunset season 4 makes a great binge, especially if you're on break for the holidays. But don't forget to check out what's happening in the Sunshine State. The new Selling Tampa cast will also keep viewers plenty entertained.
