Apparently, Rosalía's new song 'Tuya' has a 'secret' meaning, and fans think it's about Hunter Schafer

When Rosalía released her new song "Tuya" in June 2023, fans were convinced it was about Euphoria star Hunter Schafer.

Listeners became investigators and decided to dig deep into the sexy lyrics. Upon their analysis, they caught on to female pronouns throughout the track, which made them suspect there was a deeper meaning behind the ballad. But is there any truth to these speculations?

What happened between Rosalía and Hunter Schafer?

Rosalía and Hunter's friendship was in high gear back in 2019 when the duo spent time together and attended events. When Rosalía accepted the Rising Star Award at the 2019 Billboard Women in Music event, she took Hunter along for the ride.

"Thanks to my friend Hunter. Thank you for coming tonight, for joining me. I love you so much," she said while on stage.

Are the pronouns in "Tuya" meant for Hunter, given how close the two became?

Did Rosalía and Hunter Schafer ever date?

While neither party has confirmed these speculations, a Twitter thread in Spanish read: "Rosalía's next single 'TUYA' hides a VERY special dedication. She tells us the story of a night of passion between her and someone who was very important in her life: Hunter Schafer." Other app users below decided to agree with the

The writer of the thread also points out that Rauw Alejandro did have a song on his track list that reveals he's dating a bisexual girl, which seemed to point to his former fiancée. But now, the world was shocked to learn on Tuesday, July 25, that Rosalía and Rauw Alejandro called off their engagement after she said "yes" in March 2023. Fans asked, "Did Rauw cheat on Rosalía," a claim that the singer denied.

His lengthy message on Instagram Stories on Wednesday, July 26, translated from Spanish as: "Yes, a few months ago, Rosi and I ended our engagement. There are thousands of problems that can cause a breakup, but in our case, it was not due to the fault of a third party or infidelity. During this time that I am taking to assimilate all this, erroneous public allegations have arisen and out of the respect I have for her, our families, and everything we live through, I could not remain silent."

Additionally, Hunter Schafer and Dominic Fike were once pair while the Rosalía/Rauw relationship was in the works, but the Euphoria co-stars have since called off their romance. Now that the friends are seemingly both single, does this provide an opportunity for Rosalía and Hunter to explore a deeper connection fans are convinced they once shared?
