Lizzo (who was rocking a new pink hair look) then captioned the post with: "Everything I do is for HER. So that she grows up knowing how to love herself radically." An empowering and beautiful message, but one that has sparked some major confusion online. So erm, is Lizzo a mom?
Does Lizzo have a daughter? Here's why fans are confused
Following the adorable post, Lizzo's comment section was flooded with praise but also a ton of questions, with fans wondering when they missed the memo that Lizzo had become a mom—it really gave a whole new meaning to the 'mother is mothering' thang.
In fact, one fan wrote: "Wait lizzo got a daughter?"
While another also commented: "WAIT LIZZO HAS A KID???!
So, if you're also now wondering about her parental status, let us stop you right there, no she does NOT have a kid—the little girl on stage was just a concertgoer. But Lizzo is the mother of all role models, that's for sure.
No, the singer and yellow eyeliner trendsetter was actually sharing that the reason she does everything that she does—from performing to advocating for size inclusivity and clapping back at body-shaming (especially on social media)—is for little girls across the globe. As one fan very aptly wrote: "I needed this growing up but I’m happy it’s here now."
Thankfully, most fans were not confused by the post—especially with the little girl's parents seemingly commenting to thank Lizzo for the special moment—and raced to the comments to share their love.
One stan commented: "*cut to this baby girl’s grammy speech in 15 years* 'i’d like to thank mama lizzo for hugging me on stage and inspiring me to be everything i ever wanted to b.'"
While a second fan wrote: "role model status."
And a third added: "I was at this show, and this moment was INCREDIBLE! Absolutely had me tearing up. Thank you for being such a wonderful human."
We're not crying, you are.
