These are the star signs that handle breakups best. How can we follow in their footsteps?

Heartbreak, who? These members of the zodiac don't know her!

There's no vacancy at Heartbreak Hotel, especially for a few members of the zodiac.

While some star signs suffer from breakups considerably, others tend to have one mere cry and move on. (Um, beg pardon, but where can the sensitive ones among us learn those kinds of breakup coping mechanisms?)

Though parting ways is always a delicate subject for everyone, sometimes it's a bit easier to get through if you have certain traits or beliefs. Regardless of your astrological birth chart, there's something to be said about an empowering mindset after a split. Time to embrace that Main Character Energy and focus on you!

Can you guess the star signs that handle breakups best?

Fixed signs' desire for commitment and all-things long-term make them a few of the 12 signs that always want their ex back. But on the other hand, Gemini, Aries and Sagittarius typically have an opposite approach to the end of a romantic adventure.

"These forces are active, spontaneous and crave movement, so lingering in one place over a situation or ex that has expired does not interest them," says astrologer Kyle Thomas. "Aries, as the leader of the zodiac, does not like to sit in one place for too long, either. This is why their first reaction in regards to a break-up will be anger, but once they let it flow through them, they’re onto the next conquest and have moved on."

Likewise, astrologer Liz Simmons notes the signs' "live in the moment" mentality is what contributes to their ease in these types of situations.

"Gemini’s already pretty fickle, so this air sign might even be surprised with what their ex counts as a breakup since the relationship may have never been that serious anyway," she says. "Aries and Sagittarius will want to move on to bigger and better things since these fire signs seek adventure."

Gemini and its fellow air signs might also have a fairly painless split because of their logical, head-over-heart ways.

"Air signs rationalize their emotions with thought more than intensely feeling them," says Dalila Salgueiro Aquarius for example, are known for their ability to detach and disassociate from their feelings and so are able to move forward quickly."

What to learn from these star signs during a breakup

While some of us might feel inclined to wallow with ice cream and a cheesy rom-com after the end of a relationship, let's all take a page from Gemini, Aries and Sagittarius' birth charts to this time a little less challenging. Nothing wrong with moving on to greater pastures!

"It is best for us to honor the past, but never live in it, because the present and future are still to be experienced and created," Thomas suggests.

But, at the end of the day, the best way to get over a breakup according to both astrologers and relationship coaches, is to honor yourself and what feels right for you in the moment.

"Astrology aside, break-ups are challenging to deal with, so go about it in the way that feels best for you," Simmons recommends.
