In the wake of the "Scandoval," fans are asking: "When was season 10 of Vanderpump Rules filmed?"
For those who are not up on one of Bravo's best TV shows about gossip, the series has been following Lisa Vanderpump's restaurant staffers since 2013. In that timeframe, we've been introduced to a tumultuous group and have endured friendship breakups, romantic splits and serious backstabbing. However, it seems the reality TV world was simply not ready for Tom Sandoval's scandal.
On Friday, March 3, TMZ shook fans to their core when it released news that, after nearly 10 years of dating, the Pump Rules golden couple, Tom Sandoval and Ariana Madix, have broken up...and the reason being cheating allegations between Sandoval and SUR waitress Raquel Leviss, who herself was previously engaged to SUR DJ James Kennedy. (Need the Vanderpump Rules drama explained? Don't worry, we've got you.)
So, when did this adulterous affair develop and will we see any of it play out on the small screen? Here's the scoop on what's happening with our favorite SURvers in L.A. (Hint: a lot.)
When was season 10 of 'Vanderpump Rules' filmed?
So let's talk timeline: Vanderpump Rules began filming season 10 in July 2022. According to an Instagram Story from series regular Lala Kent, she had documented her first day of filming as July 13, 2022. Six days later, cameras were catching up with the Toms (Schwartz and Sandoval, respectively) as they opened their new bar, Schwartz and Sandy's.
That seems to add up, given the main highlight of season 10 was that Raquel kissed Tom Schwartz at Scheana Shay and Brock Davies' summer 2022 wedding. It was the main "oh my God!" moment of the season...until TMZ broke the news about Tom Sandoval's alleged infidelity in March 2023, of course.
According to an apology post on Instagram from Sandoval, his actions had been taking place over "a couple of months," so it's likely that the supposed infidelity had transpired while season 10 was filming, but it does not appear that the unfaithfulness will make its way into the currently-airing season (though the same cannot be said for the forthcoming reunion). Several sources suggested that cameras will pick back up and quickly catch up with the cast now that Tom and Ariana have split and everyone on the cast is overwhelmingly on #TeamAriana.
A source supposedly told Page Six (opens in new tab): "The majority of the cast is expected to gather and film [on Saturday, March 4] to share their reactions to Raquel and Sandoval’s affair. Mostly everyone is shook and completely heartbroken for Ariana." Meanwhile, Bravo head honcho Andy Cohen confirmed to People (opens in new tab): "You will see this play out in a sense this season of Vanderpump Rules, before the reunion."
