Are we venturing back to paradise? The White Lotus season 2 has been a hot topic of conversation since the dark comedy's summer 2021 debut.

White Lotus season 1—a sudden HBO Max success and rightfully so—follows a group of vacationers at an exclusive Maui resort. But with each episode, fans learn their lives are anything but luxurious. We witness a doting mother-in-law, an obnoxious husband, family health scares and, thankfully, a Jennifer Coolidge renaissance. Oh, plus there's a murder to top things off.

So will there be a sophomore installment of the breakout hit? Are we beach-bound once more? Let's dive in.

'The White Lotus' season 2: What we know

Good news, everyone! The White Lotus season 2 is definitely happening. We learned of the show's fate right before the season 1 finale, and we're certainly glad that the travel-related shenanigans will continue.

"Mike [White] has once again delivered a quintessential HBO show, and it’s the talk of the town," Francesca Orsi, executive vice president, HBO Programming, said in a press release. "We were thrilled to hear where he wanted to go next, after closing this epic chapter in Hawaii, and can’t wait to keep following him wherever he takes us.”

While speaking to TVLine earlier this year, White did give us a slight hint into what we could possibly experience next.

"It would have to be a different hotel, like, say, The White Lotus: San Tropez or something," he told the outlet.

HBO has since confirmed that season 2 will indeed feature a new cast and a new location (though rumor has it Coolidge will remain on the show). Whatever is coming our way, we're welcoming it with open arms.

Aubrey Plaza joins 'The White Lotus' season 2:

In January 2022, viewers learned that Parks and Recreation funny lady Aubrey Plaza will be joining the series as a regular cast member in season 2. She is set to take on the role of Harper Spiller, a woman who's visiting the glamorous White Lotus (location TBD) with her husband and his group of buddies.

Who else will star in 'The White Lotus' season 2?

HBO Max has been tight-lipped about the dramedy's new lineup, but in addition to Plaza, The Sopranos actor Michael Imperioli is set to make an appearance. He will play Dominic Di Grasso, who is traveling with his son and elderly father.

When will 'The White Lotus' season 2 premiere?

Hang tight, folks—we're still waiting for a premiere date. We'll be sure to fill you in as soon as we have confirmation from the powers that be!
