With the Independence Day and the long weekend coming up, get yourself ready with some snazzy 4th July nails—after all, there’s no better way to celebrate a national holiday than with a fresh new manicure. So we’ve found you all the red, white and blue inspo you could need for the perfect ode to the US of A.

Whether you want to go lowkey with just a cobalt blue french-tipped manicure (one of 2022's biggest nail trends) or go all out with the flag covering your fingertips—we’ve got all the inspo you need.

4th July nails ideas

1. Stars

You really can’t go wrong with a star-spangled manicure for the big day. Not only do they represent the 50 stars of the US flag, but they’re also seriously cute and versatile—so they’ll last well after 4th July.

You can either go bold with red, white and blue stars or opt for just pastel blue or even gold or silver.

2. Lines

Another classic design, lines will always be a winner and a recognizable tribute to the American flag. If you want something subtle, you can opt for wavy abstract lines—which are also a summer nail trend by the way.

3. Stars, Line and dots

Of course, you can also combine the first two and add some dots for a very cute, full-on USA-inspired manicure. As we see above, having each pattern on different nails is definitely the way to go and can be easily recreated with the help of a fine nail brush and a steady hand.

These tie-dye nails are soo cute and actually quite easy to recreate at home—all you need is a nail brush and a nail stamper, plus your three main colors. Simply mix the colors on your stamper until you have your designed effect and then press onto your nail, follow up with a top coat and voila! You’re July 4th ready.

5. Red and Blue jelly nails

The trend of Jelly nails is going nowhere quick, so it’s only right to incorporate the look with your 4th of July plans. Both blue and red jelly nails would look seriously cute and perfectly fulfill the assignment.

Cherry nails are very in keeping with the current Y2K obsession but are also a subtle nod to the holiday. Plus they’re summery—so win, win! They’re ideal for anyone who wants their manicure to last until the weekend and beyond.

7. Negative space

Another great option for those of you who love a minimal nail look. Go for either a red or blue on top of a nude base coat and you’re done—easy!

8. Jewels and glitter

A simple blue, gold or red jewel on top of a clear, nude, or white basecoat is also perfect and very straightforward. Or just opt for glitter—it’s simple and elegant, yet effective.

9. Chrome

Chrome nails are still the moment thanks to Hailey Bieber—and these star and chrome nails are so dreamy. These will earn you plenty of compliments, we know that for a fact.

10. Colored french tips

A spin on the classic french tip manicure is perfect for the 4th of July! It's subtle but still a statement—you could even make the tip heart-shaped, so cute!
