Evan Peters will play one of history's most notorious serial killers in the upcoming Netflix series Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story, Deadline reports. (Netflix is yet to confirm the casting.)
Ryan Murphy's new limited series was announced in October last year, and will reportedly centre on how the crimes were allowed to continue for so long, rather than the specifics of the actual murders.
The 10-part story will reportedly be told from the point of view of Dahmer's victims, as well as exploring how white privilege played a part in the killer's lenient treatment before he was finally convicted.
As well as Peters, the series will also star Niecy Nash as Dahmer's neighbour – who tried to report his suspicious behaviour multiple times without success – and Penelope Ann Miller and Richard Jenkins as his parents. Meanwhile Shaun J Brown will play the man who escaped from Dahmer and ultimately led police to finally arrest him.
What else is Evan Peters known for?
Perhaps Evan Peters biggest role to date is Quicksilver, aka Peter Maximoff, in the X-Men movie franchise. Fans were delighted when he seemingly reprised his role for WandaVision, despite the character being played by another actor in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (but that's a whole other story).
Peters has also played several characters in almost every season of American Horror Story, as well as businessman Stan Powes in the first season of Pose. Having proven his range over the years, we're sure he'll do this next role justice.
Who was Jeffrey Dahmer?
