The Grammys 2021 is the music event of the year and at last night's ceremony, history was made over and over. The night was filled with amazing performances, fabulous outfits, and some very poignant and touching acceptance speeches.

Let’s kick this off by taking a moment to appreciate Beyoncé. On Sunday, Queen Bey became the most awarded woman in Grammys history, winning her 28th Grammy award and taking over the record held by bluegrass singer Alison Krauss.

  • She did it first: 20 women who set records, made history and changed the world in 2020

Beyoncé won four Grammys for Best R&B Performance, Best Rap Song and Best Rap Performance (with Megan Thee Stallion), and Best Music Video for Brown Skin Girl. She said when accepting her record-breaking award: "I am so honored, I'm so excited."

Taylor Swift also made history by winning Album of the Year for the third time—it’s a feat previously only achieved by Frank Sinatra, Paul Simon, and Stevie Wonder, making Swift the first woman to to win the coveted category three times. She won the honor for her stunning album Folklore.

Harry Styles stole our hearts and made us all proud by scoring his first Grammy win, for Best Pop Solo Performance for Watermelon Sugar. He is the first member of One Direction to win a Grammy solo or as part of the group.

Styles was also the first performer of the night with a live performance of the fruit-focused hit. Performances by Billie Eilish, Doja Cat, Haim, and Post Malone followed.

Billie Eilish cleaned out at the Grammys for the second year in a row. She again won Record of the Year, this time for Everything I Wanted, and also won Best Song for Visual Media with her Bond theme, No Time to Die.

Megan Thee Stallion also had a night to remember, winning Best New Artist, Best Rap Song, and Best Rap Performance with Beyoncé. She dedicated her award to her mother who died in 2019 of a brain tumor. She said: "But she always knew that I would be at the Grammys, and I would be like, 'Oh mom, that's so far away' but it came so quick. And I'm just so appreciative that I'm here."

R&B singer H.E.R won Best Song of the Year for I Can’t Breathe, a song titled after the last words spoken by George Floyd, whose murder by police last year sparked global protests. The musician said in her acceptance speech that she never thought "my fear and my pain would turn into impact" and that she is "so, so grateful."

Dua Lipa won Best Pop Vocal Album for Future Nostalgia and performed a dazzling rendition of Levitating. Among other artists that won in major categories were Lady Gaga and Ariana Grande for Best Pop Collaboration with Rain on Me—they are the first female duo to ever win this award.
