Thankfully, it didn't take long for Netflix to answer our question, "Will there be a Heartstopper season 2?" And the response will make you Nick and Charlie shippers very happy!
On Friday, May 20, the streaming giant posted on their socials: "To those who have fallen in love with Nick & Charlie, cried watching Alice Oseman's magical story brought to life, or felt represented for the first time on-screen, I am elated to announce... Heartstopper has been renewed for TWO MORE SEASONS!"

Yes, that means at least two more new seasons spent hanging out with our favorite Truham and Higgs students, Charlie Spring (Joe Locke), Nick Nelson (Kit Connor), Elle Argent (Yasmin Finney) and Tao Xu (William Gao).
The coming-of-age British dramedy, which is based on the graphic novel series of the same name from Alice Oseman, has been a fan favorite for its accurate depictions of LGBT love and high school drama since premiering on Netflix on April 22, 2022. We don't yet know storyline details about seasons two and three, but Oseman's Heartstopper series contains four novels, so it would be fair to assume plots will be lifted from the page.
Oseman, who also writes the TV series, gave a special announcement to Netflix Tudum (opens in new tab): “We were overjoyed with the global reaction to Heartstopper and can’t wait to continue the story with two more seasons.”
“I hope that it just makes people smile and brightens their day — but I also hope that it inspires, particularly, young queer people to believe that they can find happiness and find romance and find friendship,” Oseman tells Tudum.
“We put so much love into the making of Heartstopper so to reassemble the team for two more seasons is a dream come true,” adds executive producer Patrick Walters. “I’m forever grateful to Alice Oseman for entrusting us with this beautiful, unique story that at its core seeks to uplift the next generation of young LGBTQ+ people. Stay tuned!”

Fans are plenty excited about the renewal news, with many going all-caps and keyboard-smashing in their comments on social media.
"HELP ME AND MY FRIEND R LOSING OUR SHIT OVER HEARTSTOPPER RENEWAL NEWS IM SHAKING HELPPODHDHS," one clearly thrilled user (opens in new tab) wrote. Another joined in (opens in new tab) with: "WE GET 3 SEASONS OF HEARTSTOPPER IMFBWIFJEBNDJDUDY."
As a third poster (opens in new tab) so correctly put it: "Time to celebrate heartstopper being renewed by watching heartstopper on Netflix." Great idea!
