What tennis match? Fans keep asking, "Is Ariana Grande still married?" after photos surfaced of the singer attending Wimbledon 2023 without her husband, Dalton Gomez

The "Just Like Magic" crooner was spotted next to Spider-Man himself, Andrew Garfield, which of course made onlookers curious about his romantic situation, too. (Here's the sitch with Andrew Garfield's dating life, BTW.) Plus, Bridgerton heartthrob Jonathan Bailey was there to join the get-together, all of which Ari documented on Instagram.

But why didn't Dalton join the game-day get-together? Here's what we know about Ari's current relationship status.

Is Ariana Grande still married? An update on her love life

Unfortunately, one day after the Wimbledon sighting, People released an announcement on Monday, July 17, that Ariana Grande and Dalton Gomez are reportedly separating after two years of marriage. The couple originally met in 2020 and tied the knot in May 2021.

An anonymous source revealed to the publication that the two actually went their separate ways earlier this year and they "have been quietly and lovingly working on their friendship." At the time of publication, neither party has responded to the news.

The singer seemed at her best in her marriage, and considering reports from her wedding surfaced that said "the room was so happy and full of love," this sad news was definitely unexpected.

What happened between Ariana and Dalton?

Ari kept her marriage rather private, which, in turn, made onlookers even more curious about what was going on in her love life. At this time, it's not clear what caused the two to go their separate ways. Grande had been in the U.K. filming Wicked, and the US-based realtor was likely busy back at home in the states. When the two first began seeing one another, reports surfaced that Dalton preferred to remain out of the limelight.

Fans got particularly curious in August 2022, when the star had been promoting her R.E.M. beauty line on TikTok. They spotted a missing wedding band, to which the singer said, "I'm just not wearing my wedding ring, it's getting cleaned. I'm not getting a divorce before you start, don't," according to People

In her May 2023 Instagram post to celebrate her anniversary—which is no longer available—she had written "2," symbolizing the years she and Dalton celebrated as husband and wife, followed by "3.5 together." However, other rare shots of Dalton are still on the star's page.

Hearts are heavy upon hearing this news. Here's hoping for healing going forward.
