Jenna Ortega and Aubrey Plaza just became the duo we didn't know we needed at the SAG Awards

Ok, name a more iconically moody duo than Jenna Ortega and Aubrey Plaza—spoiler alert, you can't...

Jenna Ortega and Aubrey Plaza are officially the pairing we didn't know we needed—and now can't stop thinking about after their Wednesday-esque skit at the 2023 Screen Actor's Guild Awards.

Could they be doppelgangers, long-lost relatives, or perhaps, twins from another lifetime? Whatever the theory, it's safe to say Aubrey—aka April from Parks and Recreation and the iconic Harper from The White Lotus—and Jenna—Wednesday Addams herself—both embody the very same moody energy, steely stares and talent for dry and monotone deliveries.

So much so, that the sight of them together, presenting the award for Best Male Actor in Television Movie or Limited Series, was like two universes colliding and we (and the internet) were NOT prepared.

In case you missed it, the pair took to the stage (with Jenna wearing a very Wednesday Addams outfit, we might add) and icily stared down at the audience, before Aubrey said dryly: "I don't know why they paired us up together."

To which Jenna replied with cool indifference, "Yeah, I know, we have nothing in common."

After a moment of silence, Aubrey then quipped "We should find the people who did this," with Jenna beginning, "and curse their families and watch—", before saying in perfect unison, "as misfortune follows their bloodline for the next seven generations." Watch the moment for yourself...

It will now join the likes of that Bad Bunny and Taylor Swift moment at the Grammys, as one of the best award show moments ever—well, as far as Twitter is concerned anyway...

Best reactions to that Jenna Ortega and Aubrey Plaza moment

It's truly no exaggeration to suggest that Aubrey—beloved for her role as Harper in The White Lotus—walked so Jenna could run, and now fans are manifesting either an Aubrey cameo in Wednesday season two or a dark comedy starring the two side by side.

As one fan tweeted: "somebody gimme a four-season dramedy starring jenna ortega and aubrey plaza as a witchy sister duo who hex people" 1000 times, yes.

Another viewer tweeted, "I'd pay good money to see Jenna Ortega and Aubrey Plaza in a dark comedy movie together."

A third fan shared some love for whoever masterminded both the Jennda, Aubrey crossover and that equally dreamy Paul Mescal and Zendaya team up, tweeting: "whoever paired zendaya with paul mescal and then jenna ortega with aubrey plaza needs a raise because wow"

Others were just enamoured by the pairing in general, with another quipping: "whoever came up with pairing aubrey plaza and jenna ortega together i wanna kiss your forehead." Yes, forehead kisses from us too!

"ohmygod jenna ortega and aubrey plaza, the duo i never knew i needed," tweeted another Aubrey-Jenna stan.

Streaming services of the world, get working on this team-up please—thank you.
