Nike has launched a special Air Jordan's 6 Singles' Day trainer to celebrate the annual holiday in style and yes, we're dying to get our hands on a pair.

The sportswear giant has introduced the new design to the classic shoe, explaining that it has been created to celebrate the "strength of community in women's basketball and women everywhere".

Dropped today, on Singles Day 2020, the trainer features a black-on-black model with tonal graphics, a crimson lace cover and a gold Jumpman ornament. Everything from the look and feel of the shoe has been created to symbolise the connectivity that women bring to the world. What better way to commemorate Singles Day?

Nike isn't the only brand celebrating Singles' Day with a crowd-pleasing initiative, many retailers are offering generous discounts and deals on products to ring in the occasion.

Fitness brand Alo Yoga is hosting a sale of up to 70% off everything on their website today, including cute workout co-ords, tracksuits, sports bras and puffer jackets. They're also offering 20% off new items as well as even more off all other stock.

Other brands like Asos, Net-a-Porter, Look Fantastic, Monica Vinader, bareMinerals and Uniqlo have also announced Singles Day sales, so if you've been meaning to have a little (or a big) shopping spree, today is the day to do it.

For those who aren’t familiar with Singles' Day, or Double 11 as it’s also known, began as an unofficial Chinese holiday to celebrate being single. It was founded in the 1990s by university students as an anti-Valentine’s day celebration, but has since turned into a huge one-day shopping event after Chinese e-commerce giant Alibaba reinvented it in 2009.

The timing of the date (it's right before thanksgiving and Christmas) means it has become a huge hit among shoppers, sometimes even more popular that Black Friday and Cyber Monday. And with all these deals, we can see why!
