How did Harry Styles and EmRata get together? And did Olivia Wilde have something to do with it?

That viral Harry Styles and EmRata hook-up was the smooch seen around the world—and it reportedly has caught the attention of one Olivia Wilde, Styles' most recent ex-girlfriend and Don't Worry Darling director.

Seeing a former partner move on with someone new is painful no matter who you are, but it's infinitely worse if you are the person who brought the new couple together in the first place...which is allegedly what happened to Wilde, who had been seen palling it up with Emily Ratajkowski in the months prior to the model's much-publicized makeout with the 29-year-old "As It Was" singer in Tokyo in late March 2023.

So did Olivia Wilde introduce Harry Styles and EmRata and, more importantly, how did she react when she heard the hook-up news? Here's everything we know.

How did Olivia Wilde react to Harry Styles and EmRata?

Despite Emily Ratajkowski and Olivia Wilde being friendly—and Emily Ratajkowski and Harry Styles being very friendly, clearly—it appears that Wilde did not introduce the new lovebirds. "Harry and Emily know each other," a source told People. "They have been friendly for a while."

However, it definitely must be awkward for the trio: the 39-year-old actress-director and the 31-year-old model took in a Styles concert together back in July 2022 at Paris' Accor Arena (though Page Six now reports that Ratajkowski was invited by Sony bigwigs and not as Wilde's personal guest) and even hung out as recently as Sunday, March 12, getting photographed together with British model Adwoa Aboah at the Vanity Fair Oscars soirée.

Ratajkowski even publicly went to bat for Wilde during that whole Don't Worry Darling drama, saying in her Elle UK cover story back in November '22: “In the past year with Amber Heard and Olivia Wilde and the craziness of putting them in this box as if they’re monsters or witches … There’s nuance to it, but when you see the way that the whole world reacts to women, it’s really hard not to want to go to an extreme side of it. I feel very protective.”

So how did Wilde react to the news that her ex was getting tonsil-happy with her buddy? Not well, if rumors that Ratajkowski is “begging her for forgiveness” are true, a source told Page Six.  "This is a betrayal," the insider added, but Wilde is reportedly "staying far away from this and taking the high road."

“She is focused on her kids and her work,” said the source. “She wants nothing to do with this mess.”

As for the new power couple? It’s “very casual...they’re having fun. Harry liked Emily years ago,” a source told Page Six. In fact, a resurfaced One Direction interview from 2014 has been floating around social media seemingly showing Styles saying that EmRata was his celebrity crush, though the video has since been debunked as a fan edit. (Liam Payne was the one crushing on Ratajkowski back then, while Styles gave a shoutout to Emily Blunt.)

Ratajkowski—who has been linked to Pete Davidson, Brad Pitt and comedian Eric André in the past—commented on her relationship status on the January 26 episode of her High Low With EmRata podcast: "I've been trying to casually date and not get booed up, not get cuffed up and it's been hard to do that and be kind of mindful of the people that I'm seeing, because I don't necessarily want to know when they're going on another date...it's been really hard, because basically, any time I go on another date, everybody knows, so the other guys I'm dating see it, and it has been kind of difficult."

Styles and Wilde split in November 2022 after nearly two years of dating. The duo met while on-set of Don't Worry Darling, and their relationship immediately dominated headlines, as the timeline of Wilde's breakup from Jason Sudeikis, her fiancé of seven years and the father of her two children, was under suspicion.
