This single dot contour hack is a real time-saver
We do love a 5-min makeup routine

TikTok has yet again gifted us another time-saving beauty hack. We were already blown away with the ingenious foundation hack—not to mention the blush hack that shows you how to completely change your face—but now we're armed with how to sculpt our cheeks in seconds. The single dot contour hack is going viral on TikTok and we’re pretty obsessed.
Anything that enables us to spend more time taming our hair or perfecting our winged liner gets a big yes from us, and this hack will shave precious minutes from your makeup routine.
In a now-viral video, TikToker and Makeup theorist, Megan Lavallie shows us how to get snatched cheekbones with just a single dot. It sounds too good to be true, but Megan may very well have discovered the ultimate placement for a subtle but sharp cheekbone.

Lavallie explains: “There is this one spot here on your cheek, that if you poked a hole through it would touch your [top] teeth.”
The placement of this may be slightly different for everyone but if you gently touch your cheek there will be a point where you can feel your top line of teeth near the middle of your cheek.
She then places a single dot on her cheek and says: “If you softly blend it out it will create the most soft-looking high cheekbone—for those who want to look good from the front and the back.” Who doesn’t want that?
In the tutorial, Lavallie uses Charlotte Tilbury’s Hollywood Contour wand which has been making the rounds on socials. Thanks to Madison Beer’s Vogue Makeup routine video all the wands were sold out for months in 2021.
The Hollywood wand is perfect for this hack as it places the perfect dot of contour on your cheek—but any other liquid, cream, or even powder contour will do—it’s all about the placement. You'll also need a fluffy brush to get that soft, diffused look.
