Like its predecessor, the How I Met Your Father cast is about to unleash some pretty astounding dating disasters. Are you ready for the facepalms?

Our first look at the anticipated sequel dropped with a voiceover from none other than Kim Cattrall—a palpable absence from And Just Like That—stating: "This is the story of how I met your father." What better New York City icon could we pick for narrating duties?

Cattrall and Hilary Duff play Sophie, who has decided to tell her son how she and his dad crossed paths. It's 2022 in New York and things are a bit confusing. (However, there aren't any masks, so at least that's a plus.) Sophie has failed at many a Tinder date (87 to be exact) and can't seem to come across Mr. Right.

Thankfully, she eventually does, and we get to find out how it all happened. Pour one out at MacLaren's for the next chapter in the beloved How I Met Your Mother world. In the words of Sophie, "Today is the first chapter of my next great love story!" Here's how to watch How I Met Your Father

How to watch 'How I Met Your Father':

Catch all of the fun on Hulu! If you're feeling nostalgic for the OG series, How I Met Your Mother is currently available on Hulu as well.

How many ‘How I Met Your Father’ episodes are there?

The 10-episode series premieres on Tuesday, January 18, 2022. But don't expect to binge—new episodes will be available every Tuesday.

Sure is! Although we're not exactly sure how Ted, Robin, Barney and the like will fit into the Hulu spinoff, this new series is very much connected to the original CBS sitcom. In fact, its showrunners Elizabeth Berger and Isaac Aptaker are the brains behind this new “stand-alone sequel.”

In an interview with Newsweek, Hilary Duff says: "The pressure was off because everyone was like, 'This is a different show.' We are taking this wonderful title and we're telling it from the woman's perspective."

She continues: "These new residents who have this magical place that everyone knows and loves, but it's very much our own journey."

You'll have to tune in each week to see how it all unfolds. (Fans will recognize a familiar environment in the pilot: Ted, Marshall and Lily's apartment, which is now Sophie, Valentina and Charlie's digs.)

Is ‘How I Met Your Father’ about Ted?

Although the pilot has given subtle nods to the beloved CBS series, HIMYF steps away from Ted's journey and focuses on a new group of friends: Jesse, Valentina, Charlie, Ellen and Sid.

Watch the 'How I Met Your Father' trailer:

Take a peek at the reboot with the official trailer, which gives HIMYM a modern twist with new faces and scenarios, but the same lovable premise.

While Sophie is out on a Tinder date, her gentleman caller states: "I was on another date before this, and I just had sex."

"And that's not even the worst part," Sophie reveals to friends.

Buckle up, it's going to be bumpy!

'How I Met Your Father' reviews and reactions

While some are anxious for a new spin on the CBS series, others have their reservations.

"What was good about HIMYM was the chemistry between the actors and the friend group. This friend group seems annoying a cliché of what millennials are," one YouTube user commented under the sequel's trailer.

Another user requested that the O.G. cast make a comeback. "Can we have a HIMYM reunion series or movie to talk about their life after 2030?"

Regardless of your thoughts on the sitcom, one thing's for sure—finding love in New York City ain't easy!
