What did the 'Love Is Blind' reunion reveal about those Jackie and Marshall texts?

There seems to be some confusion surrounding those Jackie and Marshall texts. Exactly what transpired between the exes?

Co-host Vanessa Lachey attempted to get to the bottom of it all during the massively delayed Love Is Blind season 4 reunion on Sunday, April 16, which some viewers still have yet to see. (Here's how you can watch it if you didn't get access the night of.)

You likely heard references to Jackie's leaked text messages and Marshall's mean comments, but if you need a little inside scoop on the disses between the exes, we are here to spill the tea.

Jackie and Marshall texts: what was revealed at the reunion?

At the tail-end of Love Is Blind season 4, Jackie broke up with Marshall and instead pursued her connection with her second-choice pod relationship, Josh. Although the couple is still going strong one year later—and were spotted on a date at a baseball game in early April 2023—Jackie and Josh did not attend the "live" reunion in person. However, a pre-filmed interview between the two and Vanessa gave us a quick catch-up about their relationship progress. (They've moved in together and got a dog, FYI.)

As soon as the clip ended, Vanessa diverted her attention to Marshall and brought up Jackie's alleged messages that were leaked on Instagram. In a supposed group chat between the Love Is Blind cast member and her friends, Jackie sent a video with Josh, introducing him as "my baby." "He's hard, but sometimes he can be .. SWEET," she wrote of Josh.

But then there's Marshall: if this interaction is in fact real, Jackie questions Marshall's sexuality and belittles him for his sensitivity in the group exchange, something that did not sit well with fans.

What did Marshall say to Jackie?

But the jabs between the exes were not one-sided, allegedly. Once we got past the text message situation during the reunion, we touched base on comments from Marshall that Jackie deemed inappropriate.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Jackie previously discussed the demise of their relationship because of his commentary, but no one knew exactly what he said.

"I instantly knew once we came back from Mexico, once we started moving in and stuff, that's when we started to bicker. We were just getting irritated, and there was some conversation that me and him had that wasn't really appropriate, and disrespectful things were said," she revealed to the publication. "That's where I was just like, 'Yeah, I'm good. You go ahead, and I'm going to do me, and that's it.'"

During the reunion, however, Marshall said that the comment that upset her was: "You got a strong jawline. I mean, like, you could've been a man for all I know." He did admit it was wrong and said that he apologized to her and promised not to say something so foolish again. There was also an alleged derogatory word tossed around, but we don't learn what that is—we're left to guess.

Although the two aren't on speaking terms it seems, Marshall did make a plea for fans to stop taking sides, insisting that they have both moved on since their split.

"This me versus you thing, it needs to die," he said.

Jackie issues an apology

Following the reunion, Jackie took to Instagram to apologize for her behavior and the language of her text messages.

"It was tasteless and disrespectful to speak about anyone that way. It was never a battle between Marshall and I," she wrote. "I am thankful that Vanessa Lachey allowed me to speak my peace and take accountability for my actions."

She also thanked Marshall for confirming that the two had split before she pursued Josh, a timeline detail she's been attempting to make clear for the past few weeks. The message is available in full below.

For now, we're waiting until Netflix spills the details on Love Is Blind: After the Altar season 4. Stand by!
