Jenna Ortega movies and TV shows—where to catch Wednesday Addams herself on the big screen
Wondering where else you've seen Wednesday before? Here are all of Jenna Ortega's movies and TV shows and her upcoming roles!
If you’ve binge-watched all of Wednesday on Netflix, you may find yourself already missing the steely-eyed protagonist. But thankfully it seems Jenna Ortega—who stars alongside Hunter Doohan, as love interest Tyler—not only has quite an impressive career behind her but also a few new projects in the works. Here’s a rundown of all of Jenna Ortega's movies and TV shows, past and upcoming!
While we’ve been left hanging on who Wednesday Addams will end up with—though we do have plenty of Wednesday dating memes to contend with—fans won’t have to wait until Wednesday season two to reunite with its leading star.
From rom-com rumors with fellow co-star Percy White (yep, Xavier!) to reprising her role in this iconic Horror franchise, here’s the lowdown on all of Jenna’s new movies…
Jenna Ortega’s upcoming movies
Prior to her viral performance in Wednesday, Jenna has featured in a number of TV Shows and movies.
While some fans may only know her from her latest take on everyone’s favorite Addams family sibling, she does have quite an impressive acting resume at just 20 years old. And now Jenna has a number of new roles teed up…
Scream 6
As Jenna previously appeared as Tara Carpenter in 2022’s Scream (the fifth film in the horror franchise), she is set to reprise her role in Scream 6.
The next film, which will see Jenna star alongside the likes of Hayden Panettiere and Courtney Cox will reportedly premiere in March 2023—so fans don’t have a long wait ahead of them!
Miller’s Girl
Jenna is also set to star in Miller’s Girl, a comedy/drama film, alongside actors like Martin Freeman. While not much is known about the movie, the synopsis reads: “A creative writing assignment yields complex results between a teacher and his talented student.”
Following her unblinking (literally) portrayal of Wednesday Addams, it will be interesting to see her play a more lighthearted role—though she has already proved herself as a ‘talented student’ for Wednesday. What with learning the cella and choreographing that Wednesday dance herself! We’re excited to see what else Jenna has up her sleeve!
Finestkind
Revisiting her apparent love of the horror/thriller genre, Jenna will also be appearing in director, Brian Hegland’s Finestkind.
The film, according to Screen Rant is already in post-production and follows the story of two brothers becoming embroiled in a deal with an organized crime syndicate. It's not yet known what Jenna’s role will entail but she will be performing alongside big names like Tommy Lee Jones!
Jenna Ortega and Percy Hynes White's new movie
Now, alongside all of Jenna’s confirmed movies, rumors have also been swirling that she and fellow Wednesday co-star Percy Hynes White could be set to play love interests in their very own film.
‘Winter Spring Summer or Fall’ has been rumored as a possible title for the film, but as of yet, there are no details on the movie at all—except confirmation that the pair are definitely working on a project together. Percy confirmed the news himself, in an interview with Popternative saying they were filming something in Utah—though he didn't let many details slip!
Regardless, those of us who are already deeply invested in the Wednesday, Tyler and Xavier love triangle are manifesting this like crazy!
Jenna Ortega movies: what has she been in?
Along with all her upcoming films, Jenna has already starred in a number of titles and made quite the name for herself in the horror community...
The Fallout
Jenna previously starred alongside Maddie Ziegler in the teen drama The Fallout. In the movie, Jenna played Vada, a high school student who forges a new friendship with Mia (Ziegler) and begins to reinvent herself—by pushing her boundaries and making decisions to test herself.
The cast of The Fallout also includes Divergent’s Shailene Woods and Modern Family’s Julie Bowen
Scream 5
As mentioned, Jenna played Tara in Scream and will now reprise her role in Scream 6 which is set 25 years after the original slasher movies took place.
The film sees a new killer put on the Ghostface Mask and start targeting a group of teens to unveil the secrets hidden in the town of Woodsboro’s dark past.
X
A film not for the faint at heart, Jenna also starred in horror film X, which sees a filming crew come together to make an adult film a location, off the beaten track—but the elderly resident does not take too kindly to their presence and things take a deadly turn.
Yes Day
Jenna appeared in the family film Yes Day, with Jennifer Garner and Édgar Ramirez starring as her parents as they enjoyed a ‘Yes Day’—where they could not give their kids any rules for 24 hours, after feeling they were constantly having to say ‘no’ to their requests.
The Babysitter: Killer Queen
Jenna has really cemented her status in the horror genre, starring in yet another slasher flick. The Babysitter: Killer Queen is a sequel and takes place two years after the events of the first Babysitter film. Jenna appears alongside Bella Thorne, Robbie Amell and Samara Weaving as ‘Pheobe Atwell.’
American Carnage
Starring alongside Grey’s Anatomy's McSteamy himself, Eric Dane, Jenna plays Camila in American Carnage. The film sees children of undocumented immigrants arrested after a governor issued an executive order.
Once detained they are then offered an opportunity to have their charges dropped by volunteering to provide care to the elderly—only for them to uncover a depraved conspiracy.
Insidious 2
Another horror film! Jenna also starred in the sequel to Insidious, alongside Danielle Bisutti, Rose Byrne and Patrick Wilson, as the family tries to relocate and recover from their terrifying experience, only to be yet again tormented by supernatural spirits.
Now, you've got everything you need for a Jenna Ortega-themed movie night! Though, we'd recommend keeping the lights on for some of these horror flicks!
Jenna Ortega TV shows: what series has she been in?
If you’ve been wondering why Jenna looks so familiar and where you know her from—chances are you’ve seen her on Disney Chanel! Major nostalgia incoming…
Wednesday
Of course, we can now add Wednesday to Jenna Ortega's TV show list. For those who haven't yet tuned in to the Netflix hit, Jenna stars as Wednesday Addams, who is transferred from a 'normal' high school to Nevermore Academy—a school for magical creatures and those with magical abilities.
Though she quickly finds not all is what it seems, after uncovering a conspiracy involving her own parents and investigating a series of mysterious killings.
You
More recently, Jenna has also featured in You season 2 as Deliah Alves’ younger sister, Ellie Alves. Ellie forms a friendship with Joe who helps her flee to Florida after Love murders her sister.
Sadly, while we know Ellie got there safely, she’s not set to appear in You season four, as Joe Goldberg has related to London to start a new life.
Stuck in the Middle
Jenna starred as Harley Diaz in Disney Channels ‘Stuck in the Middle.’ In the show, Harley is a young genius and the middle child of her family who uses her creativity and technical know-how to stand out from her other siblings.
Hilariously, fans have spotted that Jenna basically manifested her breakout Wednesday role, as she frequently refers to herself as the day ‘Wednesday’ in the series, because she’s the middle child.
Jane, the Virgin
Fans might also recognize Jenna as young Jane in Jane, the Virgin. For those who don’t know, the show sees Jane Villanueva's life turned totally upside down after she gets artificially inseminated during a Doctor’s appointment mix-up—and things only go from bad to worse when she discovers the identity of the sperm donor!
