Ready for the new moon? February 2023's lunation will inspire a bout of creativity.

Whether you're likely to pick up a paintbrush or explore a few guided journaling ideas, the next new moon will allow you to "positively express your creative tendencies and impulses," according to Nebula's astrologer, Patrick Price. During this transit, we'll do away with boring routines and build healthy habits moving forward. However, this will require work on our part.

"The most important thing to really get the most out of this transit is to truly embrace your creative side," Price says. "This will be a challenge for many who have spent a lot of time convincing themselves they are not creative. And to overcome this, they must really connect with their inner child and be ready to play and have an open mind."

Here's what to expect during the upcoming moon phase.

NEW MOON FEBRUARY 2023: WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

  • When: Monday, February 20, 2023

Now will be a time in which you'll tap into those projects or goals that you've been pushing aside—embrace the creativity, but don't let it isolate you, since now is also a great time to connect with others.

"This period is going to really feel like you may be recovering a sense of possibility, as if you do allow your creative nature to rear its head, you will find that you feel motivated and inspired to take on challenges or goals you may have previously thought you were not capable of achieving," Price says.

All aspects of your life will feel rejuvenated. But be aware that you might be forced to confront a conversation you've been putting off.

"Approach these with an open heart and you will find the situation is not as scary as you had anticipated," Price adds.

Additionally, there is a possibility that when you're not surrounded by others, you'll feel a little lonely, but Price insists that loneliness is something we need to embrace.

"You will be leaning into a very social energy, meaning your friendships will be watered and nurtured, but you may also feel a lot of loneliness or restlessness when you are on your own," Price says. "Whilst on the whole this will be a good time for your intuition, some may find that actually they struggle to connect to their gut and as a result may feel unbalanced."

Time to get balanced and get in tune with your gut.

WHO WILL BE MOST AFFECTED BY THE FEBRUARY NEW MOON?

Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius and Pisces will be most affected by the February 2023 new moon.

"Sometimes, creativity can be looked at in a very superficial way, but all of these signs, whether they know it on a conscious level or not, are really great at incorporating their creative selves into all areas of their lives. So, they should expect creative solutions to problems revealing themselves around the new moon," Price says.

HOW WILL THE FEBRUARY NEW MOON AFFECT EACH SIGN?

It's here—Price's monthly astrology gift to readers! Have a look at his breakdown of exactly how each sign will be affected by the new moon this month. How will you embrace the energy that's headed your way?

Aries

Now is a time to examine areas in life where you feel as though you may have been treated unfairly, but in doing so, you'll also want to think about how you've treated others.

"Feel empowered to speak up for yourself whether that is at home or at work," Price recommends.

Taurus

"Employ some 'out of the box' thinking around the new moon and you will find answers and solutions in the darkest or most unexpected places," Price says.

In order to get into this mindset, your best bet is to tap into those creative energies, whatever that might look like for you.

Gemini

You might feel inspired to revisit old ideas, Gemini. Go with them and see where they take you. And, as Price notes, "you will experience a vigor and motivation to pursue them to the fullest."

He adds, "Do not be surprised if you begin to feel new waves of self-belief and determination to achieve your deepest desires."

Cancer

Honesty is the best policy, Cancer, and it's the only way you can move forward.

"The new moon will illuminate your life and allow you to have the vision and clarity, to be honest enough with yourself about what comes next for you," Price notes. "Are you aligned with your best possible self? Is the life you are building the life you want to build? Expect epiphanies to reveal answers to these questions."

Leo

"Your heart will be brimming with kindness and generosity which is going to be perfect for any challenges or problems which reveal themselves as you will approach any difficulties with an open heart, ensuring the best possible outcomes," Price says.

Just don't forget that you deserve kindness, too, Leo.

Virgo

Now is the time to tap into your spiritual side and trust your intuition, dear Virgo. It won't steer you in the wrong direction.

"This is always a good thing because your gut is trying to lead you towards abundance and happiness. Embrace your spiritual side and find it leads you in positive directions," Price adds.

Libra

It's OK to be assertive during this time, Libra, but make sure that you're coming from a place of fairness, too. Price notes that a "sense of resolve will lead you to overcome any chaotic situations, new and old and bring a higher sense of peace into your life."

Scorpio

Now is the time to reassess different areas of your life, Scorpio, and adjust accordingly. Expect this awareness to point you toward the things in life that truly make you happy.

"Almost like an architect, you will have the ability to see which structures are working, and where things might be crumbling," Price notes. "This energy and awareness will encourage you to take steps towards doing and being more of what makes you happy."

Sagittarius

Price says this is a time in which a Sag can get excited.

"You will find yourself feeling the strength and motivation to remove yourself from situations which do not serve you," he says. "This will not happen in a confrontational way, but in a very peaceful and positive way as a sudden shift in mindset allows you to prioritize your own desires and happiness in a new way."

Capricorn

Capricorn is a sign that's truly in touch with the lunation's determined nature.

"You will feel many rushes of inspiration over the new moon, and you will put these things into practice," Price says. "You may have been feeling a mental 'to-do' list which has not been getting done, and if you have you will find these things get ticked off."

Aquarius

During the next new moon, it's all about balance for you, Aquarius.

"You will need to tap into the energy of Pisces and allow yourself to be open and expressive, but you must also remain with a certain sense of control and not allow yourself to become overly enthusiastic," Price says.

Pisces

"Your dual nature leans more into your poetic side and you will feel really able to make something great," Price notes. "Allow yourself to be center stage at this time, and do not be anxious about sharing your gifts—the results will be spectacular."

You hear that, Pisces? Go out there and take a bow!
