There's a Harry Styles college course, and where is our syllabus?
A Harry Styles college course? Does the professor need an assistant?
Not that you need a GPA bump, but enrolling in the Harry Styles college course is a great way to ensure an A.
Lucky students at Texas State University will be allowed to take "Harry Styles and the Cult of Celebrity: Identity, the Internet and European Pop Culture" come the spring 2023 semester. We have a feeling there's going to be a lengthy waitlist for this one.
Regardless of major, who wouldn't want to discuss Harry Styles' iconic outfits, catchy lyrics and rise to fame in Hollywood? Heck, we do it for free on the reg without the benefits of college credit.
Harry Styles college course: Harry 101
Louie Dean Valencia, associate professor of digital history at Texas State, is the mastermind behind the course. He took to Twitter to share the news that Harry 101 would in fact be added to the University's lineup—in the Honors College no less. Ready to dissect the real "Watermelon Sugar" meaning?
It's official, official. I'm teaching the world's first ever university course on the work of #HarryStyles is happening Spring 2023 at @TXST University (see description). This is what tenure looks like. Let's gooooo! 😊 pic.twitter.com/1z3vMZoxRVJuly 16, 2022
As much as we love Harry's music, sweater vests, crochet tops and bellbottoms, Professor Valencia plans to dig a bit deeper into this cultural icon, as any respectable educator would do.
"I can't tell you how many conversations I've had with students over the last two years that started with a shared love of Harry's music, but that quickly went into larger societal questions about gender, sexuality, race, gun control, sustainability because of Harry's art," he said, according to CNN.
And let's not forget about literature. The Harry's House artist is set to star in the film adaptation of My Policeman, where he plays an officer who has to enforce a strict law, which includes not being gay, but he finds himself falling for museum curator Patrick Hazelwood...despite being married to his wife, Marion.
And, since the class sounds great but didn't include any P.E. elements, allow us to share with you Harry Styles workout routine—perfect to attempt in between classes on the quad.
Not only is it Harry's House, it's Harry's World, and we're just livin' in it!
