Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez haven't actually broken up

They have, however, confirmed they are "working through some things"

Despite news breaking last week that Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez had split, the pair has issued a statement refuting the claims.

The couple was last seen together at the Superbowl in February and also attended President Biden's inauguration ceremony, at which JLo performed, the month before.

Last week Page Six reported that the couple, who got together in 2017, had called time on their relationship. However, neither party agreed to comment on the rumors when contacted on Friday.

And now, it looks as though the reports are completely unfounded.

Did JLo and ARod break up? Here's what we know

Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez have now issued a joint statement to PEOPLE dispelling breakup rumours, which reads: "All the reports are inaccurate. We are working through some things."

Over the weekend, a camera crew also tracked down Rodriguez at his gym to quiz him on the breakup news, to which he responded that he isn't single.

"They never officially broke up and talked about it but are still together," a source also told PEOPLE. "They hit a rough patch. But were not broken up.

"She's working in the Dominican Republic and he's in Miami so it's tough seeing each other especially with quarantining and COVID. But they want to try to stay together."

The source also put to bed rumors that Rodriguez had been having an affair with reality star Madison LeCroy, saying that they "had no bearing on the rough patch at all."

JLo and Arod have been engaged for two years after Rodriguez proposed during a trip to the Bahamas. The couple has had to postpone their wedding twice as a result of the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic.

In her recent cover interview with Allure, JLo revealed that the couple had been attending therapy together during quarantine. "I think it was really helpful for us in our relationship," she said.

We so hope the two of them will be able to work things out!
