'Love Island' fans say Davide is 'acting like Gemma's dad'

It's only been a few days in the villa, but things are certainly getting heated in Love Island UK 2022.

A continuation from last night's episode, Davide Sanclimenti was seen getting upset after learning that Luca Bish had an interest in Gemma Owen.

Despite the fact that Davide had been previously flirting with new bombshell Ekin-Su, he didn't like it when he saw Gemma speaking with Luca. Talk about double standard...

Addressing the situation in tonight's episode, Davide made it clear to Gemma that he wasn't impressed with what he saw. With Gemma being 19 and Davide being 27, many Love Island viewers have previously questioned the age gap.

However, after seeing Davide get annoyed with Gemma speaking with Luca, many fans felt that he was now acting like her father.

Taking to Twitter, one person said: "Why is Davide taking up the role of a dad telling Gemma who she can and can’t talk to?"

A second said: "Davide shut up, out here acting like Gemma’s overprotective dad."

"I could never be on this show, the way my mouth is, I’d have told DAVIDE, 'Gemma needs someone she can understand, not a second dad'," another wrote.

A fourth wrote: "Davide told Gemma off like he was her dad and sis said, 'Yh, get this old man away from me immediately'."

Others commented: "Davide is stepped into the dad role early, getting mad cause Gemma didn’t ask permission to speak to Luca," "Davide acting like a controlling dad over his daughter," and "Think Davide wants to be Gemma’s dad rather than her fella."

Referring to when Davide was speaking to Luca about the situation, another person tweeted: "Is Davide Gemma’s dad that Luca needs to ask for his permission to chat to her?"

Another big moment during the episode was when Liam Llewellyn told his fellow islanders that he was leaving.

The 22-year-old, who was originally coupled up with Gemma before Davide chose to couple up with her, said that he wasn't being his true self in the villa and had to leave.

Although Davide previously took Gemma from Liam, things came back full circle when Luca ended up recouping with Gemma in the first recouping.

However, due to Liam's exit, no islanders left the villa despite Afia and Paige being left single after Davide chose to recouple up with Ekin-Su.
