We've got a text: Love Island UK, 2022's highly-anticipated summer indulgence, is right around the corner. We'll cheers to that!

As well as receiving the news that Bachelor in Paradise will return for season 8, we've been treated to some much-needed information about the upcoming installment of everyone's favorite dating show. So if you're curious about what kind of shenanigans await—and the premiere date of Love Island UK—read on!

When is the 'Love Island' UK 2022 premiere?

Just as the weather heats up, so will the romantic adventures. After a few 'is Love Island canceled' rumors, it's confirmed Love Island hits TVs on Monday, June 6, 2022.

We imagine you're all familiar with how to watch Love Island UK at this point and now we have a confirmed start date—finally! Those in the UK can tune in on ITV2, which comes with all Freeview packages, or stream it on the ITV Hub (opens in new tab)

Meanwhile, those in the US will likely be able to stream the goods on Hulu several weeks after its UK premiere, just like it worked with the 2021 season. However, no premiere date has been revealed by Hulu as of yet. As for those in Canada and Australia (or anywhere else you may be traveling this summer), they will likely have to turn to a VPN (opens in new tab) for help.

VPNs (opens in new tab) allow you to change your IP address, so no matter where you are located, you can access the streaming services from different countries (providing you've paid separately for any subscriptions needed) to watch your favorite TV shows. We highly recommend ExpressVPN (opens in new tab).

Some of ExpressVPN's best features include:

  • It's fast and easy to use
  • It helps you stay secure and anonymous online
  • The connection is reliable
  • You can try it for free for a month
  • If you sign up for an annual plan, you get three months absolutely free
  • It comes with a no-risk 30-day money-back guarantee (opens in new tab)

Where will 'Love Island' UK 2022 take place?

If you're wondering where Love Island UK is filmed, well—you can say goodbye to the Mallorca villa that you've come to know. Love Island season 8 changes include a location switch, and though the show is still going to take place in Mallorca, it'll probably be on the Northeast coast this time around, as rumors have been claiming. Time will tell!

In the meantime, however, we're reminiscing on the best Love Island memes the show has brought us over the years.

All about those 'Love Island' UK changes

In addition to a new abode, it looks like the show will be welcoming a more diverse set of contestants this year (at last). When casting first kicked off in January 2022, it was reported that non-binary participants were able to participate for the first time, so fans are hoping this season will bring more LGBTQ+ diversity.

Who will star on 'Love Island' UK 2022?

Though we can't say anything for certain quite yet, it's believed 22-year-old Sophie Draper, whose famous ex is Aston Villa right-back Matty Cash, will join the show according to The Sun (opens in new tab). At first glance—we're not going to lie—we thought this was Kylie Jenner. She looks amazing!

She also has something in common with ex-Love Islander, Katy McDermott, who also briefly dated Matty Cash after Sophie.

Another Love Island alum, who also happens to be a McDermott (though the two are not related) is Zara McDermott, whose brother Brad is also rumored to be entering the villa this summer.

“Brad is a young, good-looking guy, and he has seen how appearing on Love Island has completely transformed Zara’s life," a source told the tabloids (opens in new tab). "Though she didn’t find long-term love, it has served as a great platform for her. She also had a great time there, and he thinks it would be a great laugh.”

We'll find out soon!

Host Laura Whitmore will return for season 8, which came as a shock to many fans considering her minimal involvement with the past season. But as soon as intel about the new faces of the villa—and where the villa will be—have been released, you'll be the first to know.

Before June 6, catch up with couples from seasons past: If you're curious about which Love Island UK couples are still together, we'll give you the inside scoop.
