Kim Kardashian, Madonna and Cardi B aren't new to controversy, whether it's wearing (or ruining, depending on who you ask) a precious Marilyn Monroe dress or ruffling feathers with a racy rendition of "WAP". This weekend, Her Madgesty sparked drama involving both the rapper and the reality icon when she posted an Instagram Story detailing how she felt the stars owed it to her for her bold sexuality three decades prior.

"30 years ago I published a book called S.E.X. In addition to photos of me naked there were photos of Men kissing Men, Woman kissing Woman and Me kissing everyone,” Madonna posted on Saturday, October 22. "I spent the next few years being interviewed by narrow minded people who tried to shame me for empowering myself as a Woman. I was called a whore, a witch, a heretic and the devil."

The post continued: “Now Cardi B can sing about her WAP. Kim Kardashian can grace the cover of any magazine with her naked ass and Miley Cyrus can come in like a wrecking ball.”

"You’re welcome bitches," Madonna concluded, with a clown emoji.

But the Instagram Story and its sentiments didn't exactly sit well with Cardi.

What is the Madonna and Cardi B drama about?

The "Up" rapper responded to Madonna's post in a series of now-deleted tweets on Sunday, October 23, writing: “I literally payed this woman homage so many times cause I grew up listening to her…she can make her point without putting clown emojis and getting slick out the mouth."

“These icons really become disappointments once u make it in the industry that’s why I keep to myself," she added.

Responding to fans' claims that Madonna wasn't actually trying to insult her, Cardi replied: “I know exactly what she said and I understand, but it’s about THE TONE …Calling me bitches and putting clown emojis ? The f*ck!” and “EXACTLY SAY WAT YOU WANT TO SAY BUT DONT INSULT ME THE F*CK …nobody gonna lil girl me (specially a white woman).”

Thankfully, the fiery feud fizzled out quickly, with Cardi revealing on Sunday that she and the "Like a Prayer" singer had patched things up over the phone. “I talked to Madonna …It was beautiful …Have a great day and drive safely yallll," she wrote on Twitter, while Madonna posted: “I love you @iamcardib!! Always have and always will.”

What did Kim Kardashian have to say about it all? Nothing publicly but if she really is following in Madonna's footsteps, she was probably busy being TMI somewhere.
