Love Island’s producers have really struck gold with this Love Island 2022 lineup, with yet another islander's celeb connection being uncovered. That now makes two singletons with famous parentage in Love Island season eight, with the latest being revealed at Liam Llewellyn’s dad!

Just as things were starting to look bad for Liam and his OG couple Gemma Owen—it now seems they have more in common than we all thought.

As viewers will already know (if you need to catch up here's how to watch Love Island UK from anywhere in the world) dressage rider Gemma is the eldest daughter of England football legend, Michael Owen. With fans finding endless entertainment around when she will name-drop him. So far she has had ample opportunity but seems to be waiting for the perfect moment—perhaps the ‘meet the parents’ episode?

The moment almost came with Liam quizzing his former flame about her last name but now it turns out she isn’t the only one sitting on a dad reveal!

Who is Liam Llewellyn’s dad?

Liam’s father is actually David Llewellyn—a professional Welsh rugby player! He’s played for the likes of Newport and Neath and even played on the Welsh 1999 World Cup team!

He now works as a personal trainer in Cardiff according to the Metro and is clearly where Liam gets his own sporting passions from. As we learned in Love Island episode one, during a very tense and seriously awkward chat with Gemma—Liam studied Strength and Conditioning at University.

So while things aren’t looking great between Liam and Gemma since her head was turned by Davide Sanclimenti, there could still be a glimmer of hope as they both share some common ground!

We’re excited to see these revelations unfold but it's safe to say he's been distracted with two new bombshells and a double date…
