Fans are calling for this reality TV couple to become the next Love Island hosts

In a show about love—who better to be the new Love Island hosts than an IRL couple?!

After Laura Whitmore announced that she was leaving Love Island after three seasons, the hit dating show was left with some very big shoes to fill (and not to mention a killer slow-mo walk). But fans think they may have found the ultimate reality TV duo to take her place, after Zara McDermott and Sam Thompson posted their ‘audition tape’ to be the next Love Island hosts.

While Love Island has only ever had one host at a time (even on Love Island USA), fans are making a serious case for signing Zara and Sam up for the job. Not only is Zara an ex-islander, but she’s also one of the most popular Love Islanders of all time and famously coupled up with the ever-notorious Adam Collard in season four—btw her reaction to his return in season eight is hilarious.

Sam is also no stranger to the silver screen, having starred in Made in Chelsea, where he and Zara first met and got together.

Since their time traipsing the streets of SW3—the couple has also become a viral TikTok couple and joined the calls to make them the next hosting duo…

Posting a clip to his Instagram reels, Sam wrote: “Our audition tape to be the next Love Island hosts,” as the pair—while wearing a bag on each of their heads and smiling faces painted on their stomachs—danced to 'Fergalicious' in heels.

And while none of us really understand what’s going on, we can’t help but get fully on board with the idea of them hosting—with one fan commenting: “Petition this now.”

While another said: “Your HAVE to be the number one choice!”

A third then added: “If you don’t host Love Island the world has lost out.”

The pair became very popular for their daily reactions and predictions for Love Island 2022, so it would be a no-brainer to bring them into the fold.

And what’s more, they actually wouldn’t be the first pair of lovebirds in the production team. For those who may not know, narrator Ian Stirling and Laura Whitmore are married—so perhaps it’s the key to success?

On a side note, Sam really can move in those heels…
