This iconic Zendaya Met Gala moment is going viral after her stylist retires

The Zendaya Cinderella dress was one of the most epic red-carpet collabs between the star and Law Roach

The Zendaya Cinderella dress is one of the most memorable Met Gala fashion moments of all time but unfortunately, the man behind it—celebrity stylist Law Roach—may not be giving us any more of them.

On Tuesday, March 14th, Roach, the "image architect" behind Zendaya's outfits since 2011, announced his retirement from styling on Instagram: "My Cup is empty….. thank you to everyone who’ve supported me and my career over the years. Every person that trusted me with their image, I’m so grateful for you all. If this business was just about the clothes I would do it for the rest of my life but unfortunately it’s not! The politics , the lies and false narratives finally got me! You win … I’m out."

Many social-media sleuths believed Roach's retirement news to be a direct response to a perceived slight the designer experienced during Louis Vuitton A/W 2023 fashion show.

In a now-viral video of the cringey moment, Roach can be seen attending the runway display with Zendaya but, upon the Euphoria star taking a front-row seat next to fellow Louis Vuitton brand ambassador Emma Stone, is left awkwardly standing beside them when he realizes there's no front-row seat for him. Zendaya motions to the seat behind her, but Roach seems visibly displeased at the option.

However, Roach quickly shot down rumors that the moment with his most famous client was connected to his retirement announcement, posting in a series of tweets: "So y’all really think I’m breaking up with Z….. we are forever! She’s my little sister and it’s real love not the fake industry love."

All about that Law Roach Zendaya Cinderella dress moment:

Styling Zendaya since she was a teenage Disney Channel star, the actress and Law Roach have had many special style collaborations over the years (that hot pink suit! The entire Dune press tour!), but the light-up Tommy Hilfiger Cinderella ballgown at the 2019 Met Gala was a truly unforgettable one.

With a wave of his wand, Roach—who was dressed as the fairy godmother, of course—magically transformed the pale-blue princess dress right in the middle of the red carpet and made it light up from beneath, a futuristic update on a timeless classic.

Given the recent Roach news, fans took to social media to celebrate the regal red-carpet moment and mourn the loss of one of fashion's most reliably iconic duos:
