Abbey from Perfect Match made her appearance rather late in the debut season of the Netflix dating show—but she certainly made a big impact among her fellow cast members.

*Spoilers ahead for season 1 of Perfect Match!*

While the Perfect Match couples had begun to solidify their relationships, Abbey Humphreys casually strolled in for a beachside date in episode 8 of the series, turning Francesca Farago and Damian Powers' connection upside down, but in the best way possible. Her arrival signalled the Netflix series' segue into a more sexually-diverse storyline, something her match, Francesca, applauded.

When the pair didn't exactly work out, Abbey decided to pair up with one of reality TV's most controversial character's, Bartise Bowden, from season 3 of Love Is Blind (have you caught up with the Love Is Blind season 4 reunion yet?).

So, who is the woman who took the reality dating show in a new direction and shed light on sexual diversity? Let's dig into Perfect Match star Abbey Humphreys' history.

Who is Abbey from 'Perfect Match'?

Like all Perfect Match contestants, Abbey Humphreys has been on reality TV before. She made an appearance in a lesser-known Netflix reality series titled Twenty-Somethings: Austin. Essentially, it focused on a group of young adults in (you guessed it) Austin, Texas, who were beginning to explore what they wanted out of life, from careers to relationships and everything in between.

Humphreys had arrived on the show fresh out of a divorce from her husband and was anxious to explore her bisexuality as a newly single woman. "Austin, hide your sons...and daughters," she joked in the show's teaser.

Before Abbey's entrance, her eventual match Francesca Farago recalls being frustrated with the dating options at the villa where Perfect Match was filmed, and shared that she had even thought about making an early exit. That was, until she was able to explore connections with the same sex.

"I found out there was a possibility of me being matched with a female, and I was like, ‘In that case, I will stay for that,'" Farago told Variety. "I wasn’t even sure if it was going to happen because it was a heterosexual show. But I’m glad that it happened, and I’m glad that that relationship happened as well. I kind of just switched up the game."

The two aren't linked now, and Francesca is dating Jesse Sullivan, a trans man who rose to fame on TikTok for his alliance to the LGBTQ+ community. But having this type of representation on TV, she believes, is the key to acceptance, which something she and Sullivan have not necessarily experienced—particularly on social media.

"To have these aspects of public hate from that just proves that the more representation we have, the more positive it will be because people will see that we’re just normal people," she further revealed to Variety

What is Abbey Humphreys' background?

Though little is known about the reality star, it's believed that Abbey from Perfect Match hails from Texas and is one of three children in her family. She studied at the University of San Diego and married at a very young age—just 20. Abbey and her husband divorced five years later, when she was 25 years old.

It's not been publicized who she was previously married to, but rumors suggest that she was likely tied to someone she had met while in California, and it's believed they first crossed paths at a fast-food chain.

What is Abbey Humphreys' age?

Born in 1995, she's a 27-year-old Sagittarius.

What is Abbey Humphreys' job?

Abbey at one point had worked at a bookstore in San Diego, and we get a look inside her love of reading on her TikTok, where she details how it helped her through a dark time.

Reportedly, she is still attempting to settle down in one location and establish roots there, so time will tell what she decides to pursue professionally.

However, it looks as though Abbey from Perfect Match is embracing the post-reality TV bubble, regularly sharing posts on her social media, including her Instagram, where she has amassed 163,000 followers.

Where do Abbey Humphreys and Francesca Farago stand now?

Although the two might've only been a temporary perfect match, it seems there's no bad blood between Abbey Humphreys and Francesca Farago, as they still make appearances on one another's social media feeds.

For example, the two often comment on one another's pictures—most recently, Francesca commented on a bikini pic of Abbey's with two love hearts, suggesting the pair are still close pals despite their romantic history.

What about Abbey Humphreys and Bartise Bowden?

Abbey Humphreys and Bartise Bowden also struck up a brief romance during season 1 of Perfect Match, but it did not end well!

After striking up a connection that appeared strong, Bartise quickly swayed to Izzy, and when Abbey questioned him, he brought up topics about Abbey's sex history on TwentySomethings, which she had told him in confidence.

"You're using my words against me. Things that I told you in confidence you're going to weaponize. You're not who I thought you were—that sucks," Abbey told him.

Bartise, for his part, was not concerned with how he appeared to those watching—which won't be all that surprising to those who saw him in Love Is Blind!

As a result, Abbey left Perfect Match a single woman, and a year after filming the show, she hasn't since confirmed a relationship with anyone else.

The first season of Perfect Match is now available to stream on Netflix.
