After an awards season hiatus, celebrities made up for lost time while walking the MTV Movie Awards 2021 red carpet this week.

The pre-show event took place on Sunday, May 16, and unsurprisingly garnered just as much attention—if not more—than the popcorn plaques themselves. Take a peek at some of the fashion looks and celebrity appearances that made headlines at the MTV Movie Awards 2021.

Who walked the MTV Movie Awards 2021 red carpet?

The social media sensation made jaws drop with her barely-there Christopher Esber ensemble, leaving little to the imagination. And this was all before the TikTok starlet and her He's All That costar Tanner Buchanan shared a surprising smooch. They decided to lock lips before announcing the winner for Best Kiss—a scene-stealing moment that ultimately left fans pretty confused.

Mandy Moore

Mandy Moore took to the MTV Movie Awards Red Carpet 2021 with a new title—mom! For her first red carpet appearance since giving birth to her son Gus, the This Is Us actress stunned in a beautiful, yellow Altuzarra gown that screamed sunshine.

Justin Hartley

Speaking of This Is Us, Mandy Moore's costar Justin Hartley also had a big night on the red carpet. It was the first time he made a public appearance with his new girlfriend, Sofia Pernas. The two certainly looked happy to be in attendance!

Hartley kept it casual-cool in a suede jacket, while Pernas was summery in a coral gown and matching heels. But the one style accessory caught fans eyes—are those matching rings we see?!

Taylour Paige

Taylour Paige's Gucci jumpsuit continued to fuel the sheer trend. Paige seemed to have coordinated her outfit with her Zola co-star Riley Keough, who also opted for a sequined bolero jacket from the Italian fashion house.

Madison Bailey

The Outer Banks actress looked flawless in a bright, multitiered Versace skirt, decorated with the trendy starfish print from the brand's Spring/Summer 2021 runway.

Elizabeth Olsen

The WandaVision actress arrived at the MTV Movie Awards 2021 red carpet in an adorable Miu Miu ensemble and debuted a new hair hue. She looked like a winner—fittingly, she completely swept the awards show and took home four out of the five titles she was nominated for!

Lana Condor

To All The Boys star Lana Condor stunned in a gorgeous sequined Giorgia Armani gown that was just as swoon-worthy as her rom-coms on Netflix.

And the party isn't over yet. For the first time in the award show's history, the MTV Movie Awards 2021 will continue for a second evening (May 17 at 9pm ET) with a celebration of all things reality TV.  The MTV Movie & TV Awards Unscripted will be hosted by Nikki Glaser.
