The rumors are true—the number one selling artist and 90s fashion queen, Olivia Rodrigo is getting her very own documentary driving home 2 u and it’s landing on Disney+ really soon!
Following in the footsteps of Billie Eilish and Justin Bieber, Olivia Rodrigo has announced her very own musical documentary.
The Brutal singer teased the news on Instagram with a clip of a car stereo that read ‘tomorrow’ before posting the official trailer for the Sour Film a day later. Fans at first thought she was hinting at a new music video—but judging by their reaction in the comments they’re pretty darn excited for this documentary news.

When does ‘driving home 2 u’ come out?
Rodrigo announced that the film would be dropping on Disney + on March 25th—so we don’t have long to wait!
What is ‘driving home 2 u’ about?
The documentary will explore the story and making of her number one selling album Sour and will feature some all-new songs and arrangements!
According to Deadline the film will follow her journey from actress to number one selling artist and will follow Olivia’s road trip from Salt Lake City to Los Angeles (hence the name.) Salt Lake City is the place she first started recording Sour and where she starred in High School Musical the Musical—so it will literally show a physical and metaphorical journey.

Viewers will also get to see everything from Rodrigo’s perspective, hearing her thoughts and memories as well as seeing behind-the-scenes, of her recording her debut album.
Ayo Davis, president of Disney Branded Television, told Deadline: "It's a unique film experience where for the first-time fans will understand how her album came to be and why it was such a personal journey for Olivia. This is not a concert film per se, but really, an opportunity to experience first-hand how Olivia Rodrigo became one of the biggest music stars of the day—and a chance to see her perform the songs from Sour like never before.”
