'The Ultimatum' season 2 will put couples in the most awkward experience of their lives
Will they get married or move on? 'The Ultimatum' season 2 will soon join the summer reality TV dating lineup
If its predecessor and spinoff are anything to go by, The Ultimatum season 2 will be completely cringe-worthy.
Joining the ranks of Love Island USA season 5 and Too Hot To Handle season 5, the Netflix gem is the latest reality dating show to sizzle this summer. For the unfamiliar, couples who are at a crossroads make their way onto the series and one partner issues an ultimatum. From there, everyone in the group is temporarily placed with a new partner, ultimately to help O.G. couples decide if they want to say "I do" or "goodbye."
If these relationships weren't complicated before, they definitely will be now. Tensions will be high and temptation surrounds each contestant at every turn. Who could be trusted, if anyone? Here's what you need to know about the new season.
'The Ultimatum' season 2: everything to know
Every relationship has its ups and downs, but not all couples are temporarily placed with new matches—all while watching those they love pair up with someone new as well. (We weren't kidding about that cringe factor.) How will this out-of-the-ordinary experience wrap up for the brave souls involved? You'll have to tune in to find out!
Who's hosting 'The Ultimatum' season 2?
JoAnna Garcia Swisher assumed hosting duties for The Ultimatum: Queer Love, but Nick and Vanessa Lachey will return to host the OG series, The Ultimatum: Marry Or Move On.
“We, along with Netflix, sort of made a decision to create a new franchise where there’s Ultimatum: Marry or Move On and there’s Ultimatum: Queer Love, and felt like it made sense to differentiate the two,” Chris Coelen's of Kinetic Content told Variety in 2022. "She’s in the Netflix family, and I think she did a great job. She really was passionate about doing it."
Considering the Lacheys had faced backlash in the wake of the disastrous Love Is Blind season 4 reunion, you better believe reality TV fans are keeping a watchful eye on them. (Spoiler alert: The Ultimatum season 2 reunion will not be live, thank goodness! No tech glitches!)

Again, the cringe is real. Do you think you'd be able to handle a situation like these couples?
When is 'The Ultimatum' season 2 premiere date?
The first eight episodes of The Ultimatum: Marry or Move On season 2 premieres Wednesday, August 23, on Netflix, so prepare accordingly for a marathon. The finale and reunion will drop one week later on Wednesday, August 30.

Meet the couples on 'The Ultimatum' season 2
So, who was brave enough—or perhaps crazy enough—to participate in this wild ride? Here are the couples we'll meet in August:
- James (24) and Ryann (24)
- Lisa (32) and Brian (29)
- Kat (28) and Alex (32)
- Antonio (30) and Roxanne (31)
- Trey (29) and Riah (25)
Since The Ultimatum is the brainchild of Chris Coelen's Kinetic Content, which is also responsible for Love Is Blind, perhaps we'll soon be treated to a sneak peek inside the pods for season 5.
No matter what dating show you're tuning into, have fun watching—and be glad you're stationed comfortably on the couch away from the chaos!
