When is the finale of The Ultimatum? Season 2 is about to come to a close—but not without a few surprises first.

We met five couples at a crossroads and one who threw us for a loop with some unexpected news at the beginning of the sophomore installment. (We mean you, Lisa and Brian.) Now, after embarking on a trial marriage with someone new, it's time to find out where the OG couples stand. Will their doubts dissipate come the end of the experiment, or will the cast opt for their new matches instead? Or are they ready to take a breather and go it alone?

Issuing an ultimatum seems challenging enough, but imagine having to witness your S.O. temporarily pair up with someone else, all while you do the same?! The premise of the Netflix series just sounds painful, so naturally, it makes for some pretty engaging reality TV. Here's when The Ultimatum season 2 wraps up...

When is the finale of 'The Ultimatum' season 2?

On Wednesday, August 30, we'll be treated to the final two episodes of The Ultimatum, which means that we're about to encounter the engagements. (You already got a sneak peek of one couple about to say yay or nay.) The OG couples will come together, dressed to the nines in a serene location, to either get engaged or move on. We'll be honest, James and Ryann have us doubtful, considering his past infidelity and her strong connection with Trey. Will Antonio's realization towards the end of the season be enough to sway Roxanne into forever, or is she still too preoccupied with her business? We have SO. MANY. QUESTIONS.

Then, after the finale where we learn about everyone's fate, we're treated to The Ultimatum reunion, a sit-down alongside hosts Nick and Vanessa Lachey to uncover where everyone stands post-filming. Unlike Love Is Blind, we don't get a sneak peek into married life a la After the Altar: we're just catching up on the couch alongside the show's willing participants.

Do you think our pairs are headed for success or officially doomed? Considering The Ultimatum: Queer Love couples did not fair terribly well after the experiment, we'll admit that we have our doubts, especially given all that transpired throughout the season. Can they overcome the hurdles?

Regardless of where everyone will stand, creator Chris Coelen believes he can attribute the show's success to the way in which viewers relate to the couples.

"It's about, 'Am I willing to commit to you for the rest of my life? So starting off of that impulse and relatable idea, we felt like if you put a group of couples together who are all seriously thinking about getting married and all potentially questioning their relationship in the long-term, and allow them to choose one another based on things that they thought that they might want in their future," Coelen told E! News in 2022.

We'll have to wait to see how things turn out. And if you are still in search of dramatic dating shows after The Ultimatum, you're in luck: Love Is Blind: After the Altar season 4 will hit Netflix on Friday, September 1.
