Britney Spears baby news has been circulating for quite some time, but now the singer's fiancé is weighing in

What's going on with this Britney Spears baby news? Are congratulations in order?

The singer mentioned on social media for quite some time now that she wants to have a child with her fiancé, Sam Asghari. On April 11, in a lengthy post, the singer wrote:

I lost so much weight to go on my Maui trip only to gain it back 🤷🏼‍♀️🤷🏼‍♀️🤷🏼‍♀️ … I thought “Geez … what happened to my stomach ???” My husband said “No you’re food pregnant silly 🤪 !!!” So I got a pregnancy test … and uhhhhh well … I am having a baby 👶🏼 … "

Many shrugged it off as a tease, but then Asghari chimed in.

Asghari, several hours later, posted a painting on Instagram of two lions with their cub and wrote:

"Marriage and kids are a natural part of a strong relationship filled with love and respect. Fatherhood is something i have always looked forward to and i don’t take lightly. It is the most important job i will ever do🙏"

So yes, Brit is soon to be a mama of three. The singer shares Sean, 16, and Jayden, 15, with her ex-husband, Kevin Federline.

Months ago, when the Britney Spears conservatorship news took over headlines, the pop icon made it clear in her testimony just how abusive the legal agreement had been. Under the strict guidelines, she alleged that she was unable to get married or have a child, and even revealed that she was forced to get an IUD.

“I want to have the real deal," she told Los Angeles Superior Court judge Brenda Penny. "I want to be able to get married and have a baby. I was told right now under the conservatorship, I’m not able to get married or have a baby.”

In November 2021, the star's 13-year-old conservatorship finally came to a close, and since then she's gotten engaged and moved on with her life. It looks like the next chapter is set to begin shortly—literally and figuratively.

Additionally, another baby on the way is in the form of a memoir: the Britney Spears book deal with Simon & Schuster has been secured to the tune of $15 million, and it is one of the biggest deals in the publishing industry's history, compared to that of the Obamas' memoirs. Looks like we're going to have a lot to catch up on with our favorite songstress when her book lands on shelves.

Congrats all around!
