Pop Icon Britney Spears has deleted her Instagram account just days after announcing her engagement to partner Sam Asghari in a video.

Britney’s name has filled the headlines recently after the documentary Framing Britney put the spotlight on her conservatorship. The singer's shocking claims in an emotional court hearing, where she called the conservatorship “abusive” sparked many celebrity reactions. She revealed that she was not allowed to remove her IUD, to have more children or to marry Sam.

Thankfully, her father Jamie Spears has now filed to end the conservatorship after 13 years and following this huge win, Britney revealed to fans that Sam had popped the question. She took to Instagram to show us all a video of her new diamond ring, captioning it with: “I can't f***ing believe it!!!!!!!"

But the cheers of celebration didn’t last long, after fans started to worry about the pop princess all over again when her Instagram account disappeared.

Britney and Instagram drama go way back. This isn’t the first time fans have been worried about her account activity. In fact, throughout her conservatorship, they were convinced she was sending them secret messages, and that she wasn’t actually in control of her account at all.

Why has Britney Spears deleted her Instagram account?

So why has she deleted her Instagram? Thankfully, it doesn’t seem to be anything sinister. Britney took to Twitter and wrote: “Don’t worry folks … just taking a little break from social media to celebrate my engagement !!!! I’ll be back soon." Phew!

Some fans are still not convinced by this reasoning, but others are congratulating her for taking a step back from socials, to focus on herself and her engagement.

She’s temporarily deactivated her account for now—so it’s not permanently gone and can be reactivated at any time. And if you ask us she definitely deserves a well-earned break from social media attention.

So don’t despair, Britney fans. We’re sure we'll see her dancing on our Insta feeds again very soon!
