After what truly feels like a lifetime, Love Island UK is back in full force in 2021, with a fresh dose of drama and a new line-up of singletons to obsess over.

The pandemic meant that the show was canceled last year, and while Netflix has been keeping us busy with reality shows like Bling Empire and Selling Sunset, it hasn't quite been the same.

This new season will be the first since the pre-COVID world when we watched the winter installment of the hit ITV2 dating show at the beginning of 2020. Some of our favorite couples from the show, including winners Paige Turley and Finley Tapp and runners-up Siannise Fudge and Luke Trotman among others from the villa, are still going strong, even after experiencing a pandemic almost immediately after returning from South Africa where the show was filmed. And while we love to see true love conquer it all, it's the inevitable 'mugging offs' and intense post-Casa Amor re-coupling ceremonies that we live for—all of which we'll get plenty of this summer.

Here's everything you need to know about Love Island UK 2021...

When does Love Island UK 2021 start?

If you're looking for a Love Island start date, then add this to your calendars: Monday, June 28 at 9 pm.

The date was officially confirmed on the show's official social media channels and it's fair to say, the Internet has no chill.

Where is Love Island filmed?

There's been a lot of speculation around where Love island will be filmed this year, especially with travel restrictions and the government's traffic light system still in place. However, rumor has it that the show will be taking place in Mallorca, as usual.

Spain is yet to be added to the green list of destinations Brits can travel to without quarantining but we do know that there are loopholes like traveling for work. Plus, the final date on Prime Minister Boris Johnson's end of lockdown roadmap remains as June 21, which we're hoping will see a lot more countries added to the list.

Speaking to MailOnline, a source close to the show said: "Crew members are scheduled to fly out to Majorca on June 20 – with the series expected to launch a week later."

They added: "The delayed launch date will not have an impact on the length of the series, with the show still running for a duration of eight weeks."

Love Island line up

The full lineup of this year's Love Island contestants has yet to be revealed. However, there are a few names that have been rumored to be among this summer's singletons.

One of the reoccurring names we've been hearing is Gordon Ramsey's daughter, Holly Ramsey. Many tabloids like The Sun named Holly this year's "big signing" for the show, however, a representative for Gordon confirmed that there is no truth to it at all, saying: "Holly has no interest in joining the show although she has been approached many times."

There have also been reports of another NHS doctor following in the footsteps of Dr. Alex George, while social media influencer Aimee-Rose is another potential contestant, according to tabloids.

Who will be hosting Love Island 2021?

Laura Whitmore will be returning to the show as our designated host and as always, you can expect all the fire pit fashion moments your heart desires over the eight weeks the show is on.

Whitmore took over as Love Island host from the late Caroline Flack in 2020, which means this will be her second time filming the show. Her husband/colleague, Iain Stirling, will also be back as the iconic Love Island narrator.
