The Kardashians clan may be gearing up for the final season of their E! reality show Keeping Up with the Kardashians next month, but one family member is already onto their next gig: Kendall Jenner is making tequila.

The 25-year-old model announced today via Instagram that she has been working on 818 Tequila and the project has been years in the making.

Jenner wrote: "For almost 4 years I've been on a journey to create the best tasting tequila. After dozens of blind taste tests, trips to our distillery, entering into world tasting competitions anonymously and WINNING...3.5 years later I think we've done it!"

Among the awards and accolades that the tequila brand has already snagged are the Innovation Award at the SIP Awards, the Best Reposado Tequila from the World Tequila Awards and the Gold Medal at the MicroLiquor Spirit Awards.

"This is all we've been drinking for the last year and I can't wait for everyone else to get their hands on this to enjoy it as much as we do!" Jenner posted on Instagram.

The social media mogul—who also made it "Instagram official" this week with NBA boyfriend Devin Booker—named the tequila after the area code for Calabasas, an exclusive California enclave where most of the Kardashian family lives.

Jenner and her fellow famous sisters have frequently teased the brand on social media over the last few months, with bottles of the stuff popping up recently in the background of vacation pictures Jenner posted whilst in Mexico.

Back in October 2020, Khloe Kardashian posted on Instagram that "Kendall is the tequila queen" and Kylie Jenner shared on her Instagram stories about 818: "This is what we've really been drinking, but we're, shhh, not allowed to tell anybody." The 818 tequilas are not yet on the market, but keep an eye out—we've got a feeling they'll be a popular drink choice this summer.

Kendall Jenner certainly isn't the first celebrity to get in the tequila game—hell, she's not even the first celebrity this week. Comedian-actor Kevin Hart announced via Instagram on Monday that he, too, was launching a premium tequila brand. The two latest celeb tequila makers join folks like George Clooney, Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, Rita Ora, Priyanka Chopra hubby Nick Jonas and Breaking Bad co-stars Bryan Cranston and Aaron Paul, all of whom have their own tequila brands. Cheers to that!
