Though Halloween is barely over, and we’re still daydreaming about all the incredible celebrity Halloween costumes we were treated to—Mariah Carey, the Queen of Christmas herself has spoken. It’s time for Christmas.

All Christmas lovers will know that there are loads of Christmas songs and albums out there, but there are only a handful of singers that are synonymous with the holiday—whose songs are always the first we play when December (or November as Mariah says) hits. The likes of Michael Bublé, WHAM! And of course, Mariah Carey.

The song ‘All I want for Christmas is you’ is arguably the most loved and most iconic Christmas song there is. In 2019, it reached number one on the Billboard Hot 100, a whole 25 years after its original release, and again in 2020.

So when Mariah says it’s Christmas season—It’s Christmas season.

She posted a video to her Instagram on the first of November of her taking a candy cane striped bat to three carved pumpkins. They were carved with ‘It’s not time’ and Mariah smashed the ‘Not’ pumpkin—leaving it saying ‘It’s time’ and as she did so All I want for Christmas started to play.

We then saw her frolic in her classic sparkly red and white ‘Santa' outfit—playing homage to that adorable red and white Christmas dress she wears in the original All I want music video.

If you’re sitting there thinking it’s way too early to be playing Christmas songs, you’ll be interested to know that experts say getting into the Christmas spirit early actually makes us happier.

Mariah’s videos have now become somewhat of a tradition. She first announced it was the start of the festive season in 2019 and now is back again to tell us it's time to get excited.

Like us, fans loved the video, one wrote: Mariah understood the assignment #ItsChristmasTime 🎄

Another added: “Thank god for MARIAH SEASON‼️”

So if you felt you needed an excuse to start playing Christmas music already, here it is—Mariah says you can
