Happy birthday Meghan Markle! To celebrate the big 4-0, the Duchess of Sussex announced her 40x40 campaign on Wednesday, August 4th with a sweet surprise video. The campaign, which also featured a fascinator-wearing Melissa McCarthy in the vid, calls on 40 women to donate 40 minutes of their day "to mentor a woman who's mobilizing back into the workforce."
"For my birthday, I have asked 40 friends, activists, athletes, artists, and world leaders to help kickoff a global effort by contributing 40 MINUTES OF MENTORSHIP to support women re-entering the workforce," Markle wrote of the initiative on the Archewell website.

"With this time, I hope they each help someone advance a professional life on her own terms, and, I hope that they inspire countless others to give 40 minutes of their time as well," she continued. So far, powerhouse women like Adele, Gloria Steinem, Stella McCartney and Amanda Gorman have all committed to the project.
The playful announcement video, which you can watch on the Archewell website, included cameos by a juggling Prince Harry, the couple's beagle pup Guy, as well as blink-and-you-missed-it snaps of young Archie and baby Lilibet Diana, but one notable appearance has people talking: the sparkly pair of necklaces that the duchess had around her neck.

The gold-and-diamond necklaces caught eyes not only because they're beautiful—Markle is known for having great taste in jewelry—but also because of the sentiment behind the pieces, both from LA-based fine jewelry brand Logan Hollowell.
Markle wore the brand's Taurus Constellation Necklace in honor of son Archie, who was born May 6th, 2019, and the Gemini Constellation Necklace in honor of the newest member of the Mountbatten-Windsor clan, Lilibet, who was born on June 4th of this year.
Love the idea but don't want to shell out a pretty penny for a zodiac-inspired jewelry design? The duchess previously repped the zodiac sign of her husband Prince Harry back in 2019, when she wore a way-more-affordable Virgo necklace from the Canadian company, Suetables.
The sweet tribute to her children comes two months after the birth of her daughter, Lilibet, who was the subject of many name predictions, and a week after the child was finally officially added to the British monarchy's line of succession.
