If your playlist feels out of sorts, Selena Gomez removing her song "Single Soon" from Spotify and other music streaming platforms is likely to blame. Upon its August 2023 release, the fun, genre-defying breakup ballad became our go-to bop. Of course, we speculated who "Single Soon" was about—definitely *not* The Weeknd, as Gomez herself confirmed—and we put the track on full blast while getting ready for evenings out.

Now, our anthem, and the singer's first new song in years, has mysteriously vanished from our playlists. So, um. What gives? Here's everything you need to know.

What's going on with the Selena Gomez 'Single Soon' removal?

Those looking for a pick-me-up on the way to work or in need of tunes for a morning run on Thursday, September 14, were surprised to learn that "Single Soon" disappeared from Spotify, Apple Music, and other streaming services. Additionally, the song does not appear when listeners search for it. Considering it was just released less than a month ago, the move is definitely suspicious.

At the time of publication, a reason for the removal has yet to be revealed, but some suspect there were security threats to potential legal infringements. Some suggest a tech glitch is at play. Others are being hopeful and think a remastered track is on its way as a replacement.

Fans react to 'Single Soon' being MIA

Regardless of why the late-summer bob has magically disappeared, Selenators are less than pleased with its removal. They've taken to Twitter with some meltdowns.

But wait, there's good news...

At the time of publication—12:30pm ET—"Single Soon" was once again back on Spotify and Apple Music, so we can rest assured fans' prayers are being answered.

Once you've confirmed that the bop is back, have a look at our intel on Selena Gomez's dating life—there are a few rumors swirling after her appearance at the 2023 VMAs. Looks like she might be taken soon!
