TikTok has become the new go-to for finding some of the hottest trends in fashion and beauty. It's how we discovered the Maybelline Sky High mascara and the omnipresent TikTok yoga pants. Most recently though, TikTok users have been showing off their latest swimwear obsession just in time for summer.

If you've been contemplating what the ideal swimsuit is—for those beach pictures, or just for you obvs—then, you may want to add a sarong into the equation, because according to TikTok, sarongs are in.

  • This genius bikini hack is making us excited for summer

What is a sarong?

Typically, it's a large piece of fabric that you can tie around your waist as a skirt that you would pair with your swimsuit. TikTokers seemingly nail the art of seeing a trend and making it their own by styling it up several different ways (including one as a cute tube top) and showing off adorable trendy three-piece sets all from affordable retailers.

In one video, a user shows off how to style her simple white sarong as a top, skirt, and bandana captioning the video, "Just thinking ahead for summer!"

The versatile piece is perfect for making a statement and stepping up your swimsuit game. Whether you stick with a basic color or brighten things up with a pop of color with a pattern, a sarong will, according to TikTok, upgrade your look.

If you're unsure on where to find them or need a little summer inspiration, other TikTokers are posting hauls from affordable brands, and they even provide style tips.

"I am OBSESSED with these bikinis," captioned one TikToker who has already racked up over 200,000 likes on her bikini haul. The video features a range of styles she found on Amazon with most including a sarong.
