Move aside 'bronde'—the 'vanilla almond butter' hair color is the new brown-blonde blend we all need.
The new hair trend looks set to be the next viral sensation after beauty lovers all over the internet have been heading to their colorist to adopt the chic look.
Right now the term ‘vanilla almond butter hair’ is a trending TikTok hashtag, with a tonne of videos dedicated to the look. And it’s all thanks to TikTok hairstylist @hairby_chrissy who coined the shade and whose own video has 11 million views and over one million likes—so it’s safe to say people like the look.
What is the vanilla almond butter hair color?
It looks like ‘expensive brunette’ might have had its moment, as—like the rather tasty name suggests—the new trend involves a mix of almondy and buttery blonde tones and highlights that create the most perfect natural looking sunkissed-look while also keeping your au-naturel roots!
To get the look, Chrissy offers a range of extensions that can help you achieve the signature look but you can also, of course, get your stylist to create this look on your natural locks.
As we can see in this video, the trend involves having your nutty brown or just natural roots blend down seamlessly into light, warm blonde tones. The mix of cool and warm shades will give your hair some serious dimension and taking the blonde higher around your front strands will perfectly frame your face.
It should look as though your roots have literally melted into blonde as there are no harsh lines.
This means it not only looks super effortless but will grow out beautifully—so you won’t be running back to the salon every few months for a touch-up. This is especially great in the summer because who wants to be indoors with their hair in foils when you could be frolicking in the sun?
Another great thing about this trend is it’s perfect for any hair length, whether you have your hair in a chic bob hairstyle or are even repping a fringe hairstyle. The key is just to have the roots blend into blond for that vanilla-buttery goodness.
This is definitely a refreshingly natural trend after all that hype around the platinum blonde, which while gorgeous does equal a lot of hair damage. This trend while it may involve lightening for some, will be far less hair compared to an all-over color and as said, requires less upkeep!
