It's safe to say until we finally sit in the movie theatre to watch Margot Robbie embody the live-action 'Barbie' of our dreams, the 'Barbiecore' trend will continue to consume our souls, wallets and capsule wardrobes. And as we continue to count down the days until that blessed occasion, the My Imperfect Life team has been busy curating their own Barbie outfits...

Whether you're a lover of the coastal-cowgirl trend or all things millennial pink, the Barbie-inspired fashion movement has it all and is the perfect excuse to create your own doll-worthy fit for summer and beyond.

And to that end, we've taken the liberty of pulling together our own wearable Barbie fits, so you too can jump on the Barbie movie hype and because, well we couldn't resist (we're doing it for 7-year-old selves okay?!).

The MIL team's Barbie outfit picks

With all the Barbie memes as well as the news of the star-studded Barbie soundtrack, it's pretty impossible not to have Barbie and her many accessories on the mind, or to stop reaching for all the pink and pastel pieces in our wardrobes for that matter.

So, our expert writers and editors at My Imperfect Life are each breaking down how we would wear Barbie IRL and yes, there's one for pretty much every occasion!

1. Naomi's cowgirl Barbie

As the writer of this piece—hi, Naomi Jamieson, Beauty & Lifestyle writer here—I felt I should probably volunteer (as tribute) to have my face go first. My look is inspired by Margot Robbie's western-style denim flares from the Barbie trailer and because I'm a sucker for a pair of cowboy boots. Alas, I know I'll likely never own these Ganni boots, but a gal can dream...

I also couldn't resist including a pair of pink jeans, a matching bag and a 'B' necklace of course! Personally, I think this fit would be perfect for anyone attending Beyoncé's Renaissance tour, along with any Barbie lovers, of course.

2. Christina's 90s Barbie

Our Deputy Editor, Christina Izzo, has dreamed up a fit that's giving 90s fashion vibes, complete with a 'Blondie' band tee, a hot pink slip skirt and some pastel sneakers.

"I wanted my Barbie to look like she spends a little time in Tompkins Square Park," Christina remarks, adding: "There's a big pop of pink, but with some sportier, street-ready elements like the Nike sneakers and the strapped shoulder bag, all finished off with a tribute to the ultimate blonde (aside from Barbie, of course): a Debbie Harry tee."

3. Aleesha's business-casual Barbie

Aleesha Badkar, our Beauty and Fashion Editor has selected a fit that's perfect for both spring layering and the office. This look will help you channel all the 'Business Barbie' vibes and would be a great addition to your work capsule wardrobe.

Detailing her picks, Aleesha says: "Anyone who knows me knows I am always in a crop and/or a blazer and sporting some sort of crossbody bag. So of course I had to go hot pink oversized for my Barbie look, paired with my latest handbag obsession—the Arket mini crossbody. And, to carry the look, my trusty white Curve Love jeans from A&F—they're super comfy and I love the straight silhouette/ankle length combo for pairing with boots, sneakers or even sandals for summer."

4. Lauryn's Y2K Barbie

Lauryn Berry, our Social Media Producer has created a fit that's very 2000s nostalgia with a dash of Western wear—what with the boots and Fendi mini bag.

Detailing her look, Lauryn says: "I am a firm believer that you can wear ANYTHING with cowboy boots—and they just scream Barbiecore too. I picked these white Stradivarius boots (which I wear constantly) and I love pairing them with skirts and dresses, so I picked a denim mini for that Y2K vibe.

"I'm also in love with this Bimba Y Lola t-shirt, it's so nostalgic and fun. Then to tie it all together I had to go with my dream bag—a Fendi baguette—in the most amazing purple colour that I spotted at a second-hand pop-up recently, obsessed."

5. Danielle's Summer Barbie

Danielle Valente, our Lifestyle Writer and resident reality TV expert has created the perfect Barbie-themed summer date-night look, complete with pink sunglasses and a bedazzled clutch bag...

We can definitely see Barbie rocking a pair of these sunnies at the dream house and beyond!

6. Mariana's Glam Barbie

My Imperfect Life's Editor, Mariana Cerqueira, has pulled together the perfect going out-out fit, with some diamante and flamingo strappy heels, a leather corset and a Ken hat, of course!

Sharing the inspo behind her Barbie look, Mariana says: "I’ve been obsessed with Sophia Webster’s flamingo and butterfly shoe designs for a decade so with Barbiecore season upon us, I feel like it’s time to finally take the plunge and get myself a pair of these pink beauties. Because the shoes really do all the talking, I took a page out of Ms. Barbie Robbie herself at the Chanel Cruise show and paired them with denim flares.

"Add a white top and a Ken baseball cap (I’m in my Kendall Roy phase, what can I say) and I’m ready for July 21!"
