After a strenuous two years, we welcome that bright Sagittarius season energy with open arms. Equal parts celebratory and auspicious, this cosmic event is one we can all appreciate.

It's no surprise that it coincides with the holidays. (Speaking of which, check out the great gifts astrology fans love for some present-picking inspo.) Use that extra helping of cheer and merrymaking to your advantage, friends.

"We may be more inclined to say 'yes' to opportunities we would have otherwise disregarded," astrologer Liz Simmons (opens in new tab) says of Sagittarius season. "Generally speaking, [it] is an adventurous time as the fiery energy encourages us to expand our horizons."

Curious what the stars have in store for you? We'll help you get cosmically in tune with what's ahead.

When is Sagittarius season?

Mark your calendars: Sagittarius season in 2021 takes place from November 21 to December 21.

What to expect during Sagittarius season

You'll feel prosperous this season, but not all signs will be affected in the same way. Depending on what individuals are striving for, Sagittarius season will help bring that goal to light, as long as each person remains on a positive path.

"The energy of this solar placement tends to expand everything it touches, which means wherever you're putting your energy is where you'll see growth," says astrologer Renée Watt (opens in new tab). "Sagittarius season is a really great time to reconnect with the universe since it is quite a philosophical sign."

Even if you don't have a plan in place, now could be the perfect time to hone your craft or explore unfamiliar subjects.

"If you want to experience something new and wonderful, Sagittarius season is the time to go all-in," Simmons says. "If you are able to, learn something new. Go beyond a hobby. Challenge yourself to learn about different cultures, stay up-to-date with current politics, even learn a new language!"

Tips for dealing with Sagittarius season

Though we are certainly anxious to see what the stars will bring our way, it's important to take a breather every now and then, even if this next cosmic event is positive.

"Sagittarius season is exciting and it always wants to be moving towards the next bigger and better thing. However, you can end up exhausting yourself if you don't stay grounded during this fiery and eventful time," Watt warns.

There's no shame in those self-care day ideas. The holiday season is hectic, after all. A bubble bath—perhaps with a glass of eggnog or Bailey's to put atop your bath tray—could be the perfect way to unwind from all of the exciting things happening.

A few transits during Sagittarius season

Although the energy is favorable for the zodiac signs, Simmons says there are several events to be mindful of during this month-long happening.

"On December 1, Neptune finally stations direct in Pisces, which clears the fog of confusion and dissolution. Things may be clearer for the mutable signs (Pisces, Virgo, Sagittarius and Gemini)," she says.

There will also be a final new moon total solar eclipse in Sagittarius on December 4th, so you'll need to be conscious of new beginnings, as things can feel a bit abrupt and unexpected.

Lastly, Venus stations retrograde in Capricorn on December 19th.

"This has a somewhat karmic twist on commitments since love, money and business are called to be taken more seriously, which doesn’t jive with jovial Sagittarius energy," Simmons says.

Regardless of how the next several weeks will shape up, we wish you nothing but the best Sagittarius season has to offer!
