Is it hot in here, or is it just The Sex Lives of College Girls trailer? This sneak peek into Mindy Kaling's latest creation is proof that we're definitely not in Sherman Oaks anymore.
Though Never Have I Ever season 2 has nods to Devi's subconscious (which includes many a steamy scene with Paxton), this new young adult series from The Office star takes things in a fiery new direction.
Kaling tells Entertainment Weekly (opens in new tab) that the series is exactly how it sounds. It's all about "the mistakes and the sexiness of four girls who are coming of age" in a quintessential college environment, like Sex and the City for the dorm age. What could go wrong?

"Tonight we're going to rage our brains out at the Anything But Clothes Party!"
Four young women meet at Essex College in New England through a housing lottery and embark on the ultimate campus experience, which of course includes intro classes, new friends...and some sexy encounters along the way.
Who stars in 'The Sex Lives of College Girls'?
Kaling had her heart set on finding the latest up-and-coming comedians for the show and noted that the process was anything but simple.
"The result was so good, but the casting process was interminable and so challenging," Kaling admitted to EW. "We had to find a bunch of young actors who are incredibly funny and polished, and also find them on Zoom."
But clearly, she and co-creator Justin Noble understood the assignment, hiring a talented foursome that includes a Chalamet. (Yes, you read that right.) Here's who's who in the buzz-worthy new series:
- Pauline Chalamet (Kimberly)
- Alyah Chanelle Scott (Whitney)
- Reneé Rapp (Leighton)
- Amrit Kaur (Bela)
All of the girls hail from different backgrounds and have conflicting personalities and sexualities. Essentially, it's four totally unique young women who you wouldn't expect to be paired together, as is the case with most freshmen roomies.
And, for those of you who are wondering, yes Pauline is the older sister of Timothée Chalamet—style god, noted Slytherin and everyone's celebrity crush.
How to watch 'The Sex Lives of College Girls':
The series is available for streaming on HBO Max as of November 18, 2021. Subscribers can opt for a $9.99 per month deal or shell out a few extra bucks, $14.99 per month, for an ad-free experience. Sign up below!
Fans are going to have to tune in to see how it all unfolds at Essex, lectures, new surroundings, naked parties and all. One thing is for certain—classes aren't the only complicated thing about the New England school.
"It’s about the messiness, especially at that age—everyone’s figuring it out, it’s awkward," Chalamet tells Elle (opens in new tab). "I mean, few people know their bodies exactly and what they like. I think that there’s room with these characters to explore further what that means for them."
Looks like we'll be seeing you on campus this fall!
